Did the Thundercracker and Skywarp versions ever come out?

No, and that's what frustrating for me. I wanted this mold in Skywarp colors and now it's looking like it might never happen.

I've honestly Always hated Maketoys intend to release this mould as Skywarp and Thundercracker, because that's not what TC looked inCyb/GF -- I also really wanted a proper CGF Thundercracker, because I did really like that design save for the stupid giant gun arm: nice jet and nice robot.

I've seen quite a few digibashes for this mould and at one time I saw a Jhiaxus and really was the deco that I wanted most (sadly didn't save it and can't find it), although the Hasbro maroon/silver deco would also have been preferred over this one. I only got Starscream because it looked (and likely to remain so) the only way to get this mould, but it's not the colours I wanted. Hence why the hip issue is so annoying.

As far as the hip issue, I was looking at it again. Maybe the hip rotation joint adds to the problem. Turning that would result in stress on the peg that holds the hip ratchet. So me lubing that hip ratchet like crazy wasn't enough.

After all this time, the hips on mine are still great.

I'm torn because I'd like accuracy but at the same time I personally don't like the GF TC design

Still love this guy, also would love the TC/SW repaints but worry incessantly about the hips...

In happier news, did you guys see Sixo's review on him? Quite a nice lookback on this fig, his channel is ramping up nicely be sure to check it out:

If they fix that I would get him and the other two without thinking twice.

I find most of my issues with GF Thundercracker's design were fixed up in the animation model, primarily the toy's skinny legs and tiny feet. If Maketoys were to turn the gun-arm into a hand-held weapon instead, that'd complete the "necessary" fixes.

Heh, similarly, I really ONLY wanted the Thundercracker version. The only reason I picked up Starscream at all was because I figured if I got Thundercracker (the one I really wanted) and Skywarp (whom I wouldn't mind having either), I would probably end up regretting I didn't have the Starscream version as well. Now I'm stuck with what is really my least favorite color scheme of the mold, haha.

It still bums me out the other two were never produced. Ah well.

I think I like the idea of C/GF Thundercracker more than the original toy: the skinny legs and the left arm. But I loved his use of a real altmode (its an actual existing jet instead of a made up space jet) and possibly also the robot mode that it's at the same time very G1 TF based, and other different.

I can't remember exactly how the cartoon made him look, but agreed. Assuming we ever get a MP scaled C/GF Thundercracker, then I hope they take liberties like these with the design. On the other hand, a jet is rather slim so getting a thin limbed robot out of it isn't odd. And I do want altmode accuracy. MP's should always be better than the original and the original was already a pretty accurate jetmode.

He wasn't drastically different from the toy, just a bit "buff"-er looking.

I'm still on the hunt for one at a good price. In December I got one TFsource and after exchanging it 3 times ALL 3 had broken hips and the blade gimmick never worked. Seems like the earlier releases are the better QC.

Have you tried Robotoybase yet? That's where I got mine, and the hips have held up fine these last few months.

What would a fair price for GM be? Ebay isn’t too reliable to judge by. Putting mine up for sale, hips and blades are good.

Just got this guy in the mail and the hips don’t seem like they’ll be an issue. Slightly loose with soft ratchets. Not tight at all.

When should I be worried about the hip breaking?

Sounds like you got a good one... mine is super tight and squeaky (no ratchet feel or sound)
