    Thanks!

Now Laserbeak...well... Laserbeak pretty much ends up looking like Swoop...a bit...I'm hoping some detail work will help!

"Bird, bird, bird, bird is the word!" Rounding out team MegaHertz is Laserbeak! I tried to stick with an updated but simplified G1 aesthetic for him.

Please excuse the uh, handiwork in the group shot, it's late! Next up will finally be the full shoot on these guys with the combined mode of MegaHertz with Ratbat and alt modes for Rumble and Frenzy!

That's probably better than my ideas. I toyed around with making a ratbat out of a mindwipe for TR. I figured given soundwave's gimmick with that tape thing I could make the gang outta deluxes, I was gonna do rumble/frenzy with the chromedome mold, ravage with weird wolf(great minds apparently), but it all got derailed when I couldn't come up with a deluxe mold for the birds without heavier modifications than I was capable of at the time.

That was my bigger concern. I felt like ANY CHUG sized custom RatBat I'd make would look like Mindwipe!

Great work here. Love the Laserbeak more than I thought I would. Ravage is perfect.

I was gonna go with marvel colors but yeah, would definitely just like a mindwipe.

I'd have to agree on both, I did Beaks last because he wasn't too... original? I like his bot mode more than bird mode.

But yeah, once I got the paint on Ravage I got a whole lot happier. He's a beefy boy with some teeth!

That alt mode looks great. Only way I'd see improvement for the figure would be if there was a Divebomb in CW scale you could take parts from. (TFC Phobus? Think they are a bit bigger than CW.)

So when are we gonna see the combined team? XD

    Meet MEGAHERTZ

    Roll Call!
    Soundwave - CW Onslaught
    Rumble & Frenzy - PotP Wreck-Gars
    Laserbreak - PotP Cutthroat
    Ravage - PotP Sinnertwin
RatBat - PE-10 King Bat (weapon)

Gotta say, this one was a labor of love. Soundwave was the first of the Transformers I ever got from my folks as a kid. Loved him and them every since!

I suppose I'll have to make a Blaster one for them to duke it out, eh?

After this whole project, I have to ask, what was your first Transformer and what inspired you to do customs?

He looks AWE-mazing :thumb :thumb :thumb
Which character was his head originally intended for? Ravage's and Laserbeak's look like Leokaiser characters' heads.
And the wheels on his shins could be speakers or turbines to blow away other (compared to him) tiny bots.

I remember all of my pre-Beast Wars TFs (I think :lol ) but I actually don't remember which one was the first. But I remember my first Beast Wars character: Rhinox. Before Beats Wars Transformers where just a cool toy to me and I think I've been to young to actually understand any lore. But with Beast Wars the fandom actually had begun for me.
I just got annoyed by missing out on paintapps so I bought some Eddings, then Sharpies and later Gundam Markers. At some point I started with modding and got used to altering figures not only colorwise.

    So what's your story?

For me, my first transformers figure was the small Cybertron Optimus and Hot Shot, the small movie Megatron, and kind of G-1 Bomb Burst's pretender shell. I got into the customizing gig from doing paint apps on Star Wars stuff and wanting a Fulcrum figure.

Love this soooo much. You totally need to do Blaster and his minions.
My first custom was Gobot Tank. What inspired me? I had been doing 1/6 military figures when my wife and I bought a house and she was pregnant without first kid. Between work, fixing up the hosue and preparing and then raising baby, I had no time for man dolls. Ou of curiosity i googled "custom transformers" and found the TFW. After being inspired, as well as spending time pouring over numerous tutorials, I took my first shot at a custom, a simple repaint and head swap. Been hooked since.

My story? There's alot of disjointed reasons here's a few in no particular order.

I just hit 43, so I was the "prime" age for the demographic of Transformers growing up when the show hit. My parents never bought me a ton of them, but my best friend was an only child and his loaded him up with new figures. I got a Soundwave and Buzzsaw as my first figures growing up.

Fast forward to adulthood, and I have a son, and he fell for Transformers hard. It was something I could share with him.

And also a few years ago my best friend of over 35 years, yes the one I used to play Transformers with, passed away suddenly. I always had anxiety and depression, but losing him made it that much worse. It's kind of hard to make friends as a Dad of 2 in your 40s. BUT all those memories of Transformers and playing with him growing up, now playing with my son, helped.

On a side note I've also done conventions and fan art as well as tshirt design for over a decade for sites like Teefury, Ript and ShirtPunch. I started getting really burnt out with the rat race on digital art and fan art and "being the first one to come up with a clever mashup of this and that popular thing".

So that brings me to last year. My new daughter was a year old and I took the prior year off of doing conventions after she was born, and I was sick of my job. Conventions always helped with depression giving me a goal to work towards, but again, I hated that rat race and it was always a financial gamble.

So again. Last year I stumbled across the Nightbeat head adapter for T30 Nightbeat w his TR head and did it. Then a TR Cliffjumper head for TR RoadRash. Then I saw the idea to do the Autobots Ark from a Power Rangers Zenith Carrier Zord. I was going through a lot of life changes then. I quit my job, got into therapy, and found oddly enough, I really enjoyed working on customs. It was therapeutic...so I kept doing them.

Another year later and here we are. Aside from learning new skills and the therapy aspect, the community, people like you guys, really are the highlight of my day. What inspires me?

A little bit of pop culture, a little bit of childhood, and a lot of all of you. And I think my best friend would have shit his pants over some of the stuff I've put together of he were here to see it.

So thanks, seriously. You all are a life saver in all the ways. This has been your TMI for the week.
