And that when usually I am far too critical. Perhaps there is hope for me yet.

I for one have no issues with camera cuts in general. Good grief, the number of times i have got into transforming a more complicated figure, even one i know well, and thought #### i did that last bit the wrong way, or i forgot a step 5mins ago. Just my opinion, but reviewers are fine to cut and redo sections - they also have the additional complication of trying to get things in the camera frame and at arms length too - i would really suck at this - and reviewers are human and get things wrong, which do not need to be in the final video.

I only have a problem where parts are cut out completely ie 'so now you get this part round this other part and push in' cut to completed shot 'and there we go' - when you know that it just does not work that way or is very difficult (and often needs flexing) and they have done the step off camera to make it look easy.
Just to clarify - i have referenced peaughs post as it was the last on this subject. I do NOT think Peaugh does this, nor for that matter emgo/paik/bsf amongst others. Also i am not talking about post transform tidy up either.

The inner chest hooks are even more horrible, than the splitting chest portion, you know? Where you pull the inner chest apart? That softened up very well from first to second transformation.
The hooks not though. Still rough to get them in and also apart. Horrible.

Want to say a piece on your first comment:
I think a full transformation surely has an appeal, but I don´t think there´s the need. Viewers skip over most anyway so I made it my goal to have as much info and good viewable parts in there, and also show where stuff is hard as possible, as all the panelforming is just exactly that: "Flip here, peg there, flap there, peg here." That´s just boring (no attack on your stuff, it just is. I hope you know how I mean that), which is why I sped up most of the panel forming and went back to normal, as soon as I was on the hip flaps, as I said that this can be done later on, as it will save you a lot of grief

Arms are just frustrating, with all the tolerances so I concentrated on the portion on where to spin and twist, so you have the overall location/direction and the rest is just doing it the best you can, you know?

There are always different approaches and I think, at the end of the day, everybody can just do their best.

This is a thoroughly engineered piece and we still have to keep in mind, that it´s an anthropomorphic robot that transforms into a planet. Rough shit. Try think that up in your head.
Same as Megatron to gun. Try to wrap your head around that and THEN you can cherrish and maybe even appreciate it way more.

Different on Ferocious, at least to me. Or is it? I mean...4 limbs and essentially the same length and all. I just think it was unnecessarily complex and just simple 'combinerwarsing' would've helped.

I think you hear my frustrations, sorry for off-topic, hope you don't mind, but at the end, for the sake of the conversation on complexity:

I just wish the reviewers would use the same name for here that they do for their videos (or vice versa).
Of course, some do :thumb .

He was specifically noting robot to planet mode. He noted most reviewers did it planet to bot. Obviously getting this lined up is much harder bot to planet. I still haven't seen anyone bot to planet without tons of jump cuts.

It's almost like you shouldn't bother tabbing in any of the panels, because until the very end they will come out of alignement and will need you to make corrections.
I was nervous about that when we first saw this project popping up again under the Studio Cell name. It's not as bad as I feared, but the stability of the connections between the panels and the inner mass is still not as secure as would be ideal IMO.
Then again, if those connections were more secure you might run the risk of accidentally breaking things while you transform it. I know I am trying to remember to unpeg the abdomen pieces from the leg when I transform him back to robot, because I might damage him if I forget.

Exactly, I like his transformation videos because I know he is hamfisted and will rush through things and it will tell me the limitations and dangers of the figure. I am not doing it on camera and will take my time and treat it like a Faberge egg. I appreciate knowing where the figure is delicate and what can happen so I don't do that to my figure. Nobody wants to break a figure, irregardless of his bias, he is NOT trying to dislike a figure. I think the Haslab one will look good in planet mode and garbage in bot mode and yes he is probably biased towards that one. What do I care, the facts about the cautions of the Zeta one still exist.

Yup, 100%. Had that the first time too, but second time I remembered.
It´s also not needed to peg all those securing clamps/hooks in there, cause, to be fair, I barely got any in, it´s mostly the main connections from legs to torso, arms to torso and panels to arms, legs and such, without the fold out clamps.
So...done right and thorough (not judging anyone here, I had a super hard time with Ferocious, so some figures suit better than others) he IS pretty stable in planet mode.

Finished my photo set today and here you see, that said clamps are not in place and look at the planet:

It will likely need diffusing, especially with a bright LED. I tried a piece of paper the first time but it ended up looking like someone slid a card behind his abs. I think a low powered LED is the best option, and maybe a creative diffuser can imitate the swirl behind his abs in the '86 movie. Gonna try a few more things after I get the LED itself to fit properly.

What about a single layer of toilet paper? I mean: TP is usually multi layered, so separate one layer. I've used that as a diffuser for photgraphy.

Similar here, went from NY to NJ fast, then got 2 updates while in NJ that it was 'in transit' only to show up in NJ again....then from NJ to texas real quick (1 day) and has been stuck 3 hours away for 4 days now....then it updated this morning to say it was still 3 hours away in transit at the same location...

Not related to this thread at all, but the express shipping from TF Safari left China on the 4th and got to Chicago on the 7th. Absolutely insane. It cleared customs about 2 days ago. I’m hoping that the tracking hasn’t updated, and it could be out for delivery today.

    related to the thread:

UGH STILL on its way to USPS. I'm guessing that it hit California right about when everything was shut down and the customs officers are only back in the last few weeks. At this rate I'll get MMC Helex, my other big purchase, from TFSource first. My wife wants one of them to come before my birthday in 3 weeks, and that's looking less likely!

im in Middleton, Wi. It’s at O’hare still. I googled Elmwood and see Illinois and Wisconsin villages. Either way, they’re both 2 hours from me.
