I preordered Fanshobby MB-12 Athena Minerva with @solskjaer seller. They contacted me a while ago to collect the discounted balance. They expect their stock to arrive within the next 2-3 days.
I paid 10 yuan preorder deposit + 289 discounted balance. 299 total plus a free set of stickers.
After Alipay fees it is about $44 USD before overseas shipping cost.

$44 before international shipping, not too bad. It shouldn't weight more than 500g, so at most another 45 yuan for Wuhan EMS. If you are lucky, say you are at 2052g before adding her, you may need to add nothing to ship her.

 

I like to look at the weigh tin kg since that's what Taobao & SB uses.  
Not bad though. 45 yuan is currently $6.43 USD. So around $51-$53 grand total shipped. Even less if you're consolidating the shipment with other items.

Did you send your Athena to Superbuy Forwarding Warehouse for verification? Did you do that before or do you do it after you've paid the balance/purchased the actual item from the Taobao seller?

 

I have just sent. I guess it should be any problem but I will probably wait for verification before paying.

 

This time I paid the seller first then submitted for SB verification. The seller won't receive their stock for 2-3 days anyway so if SB does raise an issue (which I highly doubt they'll do) I'll have a day or so to look into it before the seller ships.

 

Non Chinese retailers are expected to have FT-42 Hunk in 2 weeks. So I guess that means 4 weeks for us, assuming our preorders are for the first batch.

Has anyone got any updates on FT Magnum preorders?

Haven't bought off Taobao in a long time. Anyone in Aus able to comment on any shipping changes with TF stuff? Found some Zeta aerial bots i wanna bring in.

 

Shipping by air is very expensive. About 60 yuan per 500gm. Best to use the Surface consolidation warehouse, but this is based on volume. H x w x h / 6000. Approx 60 yuan for first 500 gm and then possibly 6 yuan thereafter p/500gm. The kicker is it takes a while. 4 weeks and 5.5 weeks for my last 2 surface orders.

If you have any other Zetas, all the limb boxes are fairly similar in size so it will be easy to calculate volume. Their Silverbolt was a big box, and can't recall dimensions but can dig out the box if you want to know. I've found the sellers are more than willing to give dimensions in cm and am understanding when you mention the forwarding warehouse is shipping based on volume. I tell them that so they can use the smallest box necessary, as opposed to paying for a big box of wasted space.

 

Just to add on:

- not all sellers will keep track of dimensions after they ship out, so if you want accurate dimensions, tell them to measure the package before sending out

- Not sure about the Taobao Auz warehouse in China, but for the Singapore Warehouse, usually half my packages are over-measured, and I have to ask them to remeasure, and sometimes they kick up a fuss. A few cm difference can equate to 0.5kg easily, and adds up if you have multiple packages

- According to their rules, small packages with less than 0.5kg difference in actual charged weight will not be entitled to a shipping fee refund, e.g. if you received 10 packages, and each package is overmeasured by 0.49kg, leading to a total of almost 5kg more in shipping fees - too bad, no refund for your excess 5kg

My last shipment of 11 packages, had an excess of 1.1kg in volumetric weight from 6 of them, which equates to 2kg in excess shipping fees rounded up, but only 1 of the package was over 0.5kg difference, so only that was counted in the refund, which was less, as a result.

So better to get the dimensions from the seller and compare it with what the warehouse measures, and get them to remeasure if it's off.

 

Are you shipping by sea? There is no issue shipping by air for Singapore.

Is the calculation no longer automatic based on Sellers info? It's been a long time. When I used to do it, it'd just go to the 4PX shipping warehouse, they tell you how much, you pay and that's it.

Ha! Just trying to grab a couple of things. I don't have the sort of cash I used to where I'd just buy up everything.
