Welcome! You are about to witness what could be the most ambitious attempt to tell a coherent story lol. What follows is what I would call an experiment in storytelling. 8 collaborators flexing their creativity. Can it be done? We shall see! But it's sure going to be a fun ride. For those wondering what this is about please check out this thread Anyone up for a collaboration??? Thanks to everyone participating. Let's get started!
Earth, The Information Age, on a Highway Between A and B The seeker scanned the traffic below her; she had to find it, but just as on Cybertron the scout was in their element in a crowd; there she remembered, they exploited the common 65356-9292-346 ‘Bug’ model. SLIPSTREAM (INTERNAL) I would take my position, sniper at the ready, and sit there as hundreds of couriers, personal helpers, euphoria workers, and civilians travel the same route as my target. I shouldn’t take the chance that I miss them; I know how important it is, then and now. But to have shot the wrong one would not have just been something I would carry, but all of Cybertron. And ultimately, someone else didn’t think of that and it did split the planet in too. So to see this smug scout risk bringing the same thing down on another world, I don’t understand. But when I do see them I won’t hold back. The scout, Bumblebee, is stuck in traffic. The beetle’s rear-view mirror angles, checking its surroundings and the windscreen wipers very slightly buzz, in almost imperceptible adrenaline from the tension. BUMBLEBEE (OVER COMMS) Hi Mom, I’m stuck in traffic so just thought I’d let you know, I’m not dead you don’t need to worry. You always worr- WHEELJACK (OVER COMMS) Delilah, don’t be like that. They sigh It’s fine honey. I’m still stuck where I was the last time you called. Try and find somewhere else to get off if you can, things aren’t going to change any time soon and I don’t like the look of those storm clouds. Bumblebee (OVER COMMS) I understand, thanks mom. And see you soon. The call ends and Bumblebee notices the sleek, almost black, glossy stealth fighter seems to be focusing on their location now. Taking Wheeljack’s advice, they turn off at the next available exit, taking them to a less-travelled road with less eyes. Slipstream’s almost certain it’s them now, but it won’t matter once they make it to Wheeljack. There are less people on the road now, soon she’s going to be sure of her shot. There’s no one now; Bumblebee speeds up and the predator stops circling and swoops in, still neither willing to give up the ruse until it’s lethal and both running complex processes to avoid giving away the nature of their pulsing spark, their alien yet natural gears, the sentient metal bonding it all together. Too late now, the beetle shoots into a tunnel, the jet shooting over it and waiting on the other side. But it never comes SLIPSTREAM (INTERNAL) They can’t still be there can they? There’s only one entrance. SLIPSTREAM (OVER COMMS) Stalker, can you contact the surveillance and intelligence teams and check what just happened? We knew this whole area and that tunnel- this was it! And we really don’t need a loss. Slipstream’s commanding tone reveals dejected feelings by the end of this statement. STALKER (OVER COMMS) Confirmed commander, Krok’s Forward Operating Team don’t know what happened either. We were one step ahead of them; Dreadwing and Smokescreen were shadowing you while we kept others on the highway in case that was a decoy. We researched and scouted... Hook even dragged Scrapper down there for a personal inspection of the area. I got... a lot of notes back, but nothing that seems advantageous to a scout that didn’t want to bring a tunnel down “about one year before its natural expiry”; well that’s more constructive than Hook at least. It would be a shame if one day these buildings were as horrible as they say and Hook was caught in the middle, just slowly suffering through-Slipstream turned down Stalker’s macabre fantasies, practically muting him. She is alone, hovering from afar in robot mode now. She has this moment to herself, still watching the tunnel, but resigns. She turns Stalker back up and neither realise as she talks over him. STALKER (OVER COMMS) oorry I promise I don’t think that about/ all our allies, not even all our enemies but sometimes, and with Hook. SLIPSTREAM (OVER COMMS) /Alright, we need to be ready for whatever comes next, this might be already lost. No mind was payed to the Lancia Superjolly and whatever may have been inside of it as it left the tunnel. "Hey Delilah"
Ah will fix the formatting. Anyway this is a placeholder post for either a drawing I will do of the ending or will delete, just keep going either way
Interesting beginning!! So we have what I'm guessing is a female Wheeljack who is the mother of Bumblebee, who goes by they/them pronouns? I like this start. What's with Delilah though? Is that a affectionate nickname Wheeljack has for Bumblebee?
You are right that Bumblebee is going by they/them pronouns, I honestly didn't consider Wheeljack as much, so that can be up for more interpretation. But either way Wheeljack is more of a parental figure yes, even if they weren't a van I was imagining like the beefy Cyberverse build for them and I feel that's in the story for me to say potentially eccentric as usual but definitely protective? I guess it could have been more explicit, but the other thing going on there is that if a Decepticon listens in on this conversation they're not going to pick up on the instructions Wheeljack is giving, its just the chatter of one thousand conversations. They do definitely have some fun with this code though, so future authors could decide how significant that is. Like Delilah is Bee's codename but(other than the behind the scenes reason of that final line) there is some play and/or affection in saying it again in person. Spoiler: So basically Im trying to strike a balance between my thoughts and 'most of this story is someone elses now and if you think thats good dont read this' I didnt intend it but I love the idea of mother Wheeljack though, I would lean into that happy accident personally. That would basically be a character I'm RPing too lol, she's mother eccentric scientist.
I got the part about the names, in order to throw off anyone listening in. The only thing I would be careful about is make sure to set the scene up ie location. I get the feeling they're on Earth, but where? I guess you can leave that up to interpretation for the next collaborators but I think the more useful info the better.
Yeah I could have described more of the setting, and potentially with the script format you could do a broad LOCATION - STATE, YEAR It is somewhere on Earth, I should have pushed myself but I didnt have it too narrowed down. I did have a general ballpark of year in mind, maybe there's some clues but I just thought of the thing above ^ Potentially you've already started, would it mess you up to stick a year at the top of that and change nothing else? @ObakaChanTachi
I have added a single line to the beginning, it’s flexible because what little I considered of the setting wasn’t described and my focus was on everything else going on. So it can change but also lot of freedom there as it is. Also I made the change hours ago and fell asleep typing this
Little note: I plan on including my own interpretations on Hot Shot and Windblade for this, at least for my pages. Izzat alright?
There's no restrictions. As long as pages seem coherent and don't look "forced". Remember that were supposed to be making things up on the fly since we don't know what the previous page will be like Also, whenever we're posting our page lets tag the person who is up next so they know they're "on the clock"
hmm, i got an email update that @ObakaChanTachi had posted his page? Page needs to be posted by today or risk losing the spot!
CUT TO - INT. SUPERJOLLY In the Superjolly was Steve Silverstein (STEVE). A average build young man with black hair and a thin pair of silver frames for glasses. If you asked him he'd say the Superjolly, his first car, by the way, was of a "custom build" equipped with a car phone and a custom fade or whatever. It's really just a $4000 hand-me down gift from his parents. STEVE Delilah? What's up, babe? It's the Information Age, after all. Communication technology was at its infancy, and somehow Bumblebee's signals to Wheeljack were also intercepted by the human boy in his Superjolly. BUMBLEBEE (Confused) Uh, no... Mom. I'm Delilah. STEVE Who is this? BUMBLEBEE I'm Delilah, Mom. STEVE (dead beat) Yeah, you are. WHEELJACK (haste) Delilah! What's going on? Wheeljack joined the conversation, further fuelling the confusion. STEVE Wait, who are you? WHEELJACK (In an obvious masculine voice) I'm her Mom. STEVE (Chuckles) Yeah right. And I'm a Voltron. WHEELJACK You're in the wrong call. Leave my girl alone. STEVE Whoa. Okay Mr. Mom. Did you mean you were talking about my girl? WHEELJACK Delilah, what is this boy doing here? BUMBLEBEE (Confused) I don't know! WHEELJACK Well you need to know! The storm will come for us and the civilian. STEVE Storm? Civilian!? CUT TO - SLIPSTREAM IN THE SKY Slipstream gets back on her senses and picks up on the bickering trio. Suspecting the Superjolly for an Autobot, she sends out her eye on the ground, CRANKCASE. SLIPSTREAM Houston! We have a target. You're next! @ErickCruz
Cut to exterior shot of the Decepticon base, the Nemesis. Int. shot control room. Soundwave, in boombox alt mode resting on a console hooked up to a monitor as big as the wall. SOUNDWAVE: Afirmative A corridor door slides open, Megatron and Starscream enter the room. Skywarp and Thundercraker follow behind them. MEGATRON: Soundwave, report. Soundwave transforms into his robot mode SOUNDWAVE: Slipstream has found the Autobot scout. Currently tracking, awaiting orders. STARSCREAM: The order is to engage and bring the Autobot to us! Megatron looks visibly angered MEGATRON: Cancel that order! STARSCREAM: But, Megatron...! As leader of the air command... MEGATRON: You forget your place, Starscream. I give the orders. What if the Autobot is not alone? Skywarp and Thundercracker look at each other and try hard to hold laughter STARSCREAM: Slipstream is more than capable of handling herself MEGATRON: I dont want the Autobot getting away. Deploy Skywarp and Thundercracker to Slipstream's location, they will serve as support. And you will follow as backup. Is that clear? STARSCREAM: Yes, lord Megatron. MEGATRON: Good. Once Skywarp and Thundercracker arrive Slipstream will take the lead and engage the Autobot. Soundwave, relay the order! SOUNDWAVE: As you wish, lord Megatron. Megatron turns and exits the control room, leaving the trio of seekers behind. Starscream turns in the direction of Skywarp and Thunderscracker STARSCREAM: What's so funny? The seeker duo quickly look in the other direction STARSCREAM: You heard Megatron, let's go. @Bumblebee2000 you're on the clock!
