I've been thinking over and this actually has me excited for something. They make their Prime, recolor it white, give it a car carrier trailer armor and we finally have an MP Magnus that turns into a white Optimus Prime. That would be amazing.

 

i'm ok with another prime, i doubt we'd see it for several years anyways.

How well does the Prowl/Streak mold hold up? I was looking at the MP-17+ and MP-18+.

 

They're not as posable as some (like the newer MPs), but I think they hold up very well. I've gotten MP 19+ recently, and... yeah, its a great mold.

 

they are from an older MP style that was more real world vehicle. now, takara leans more towards a toon look. personally, i still like the mold.

ugh, right. Cang Toys. I originally didn't include it because I thought it was CHUG sized. now, I'm not sure to include them since they are so stylized. it's like a gundam version of the characters. they definitely invoke the Predacons, though. the alt modes are not the correct type of animals, but close enough that you know what they are supposed to represent. i may add a note under Predaking for now and maybe list them individually once i see the combined mode.

So I am going to pull the trigger on my first masterpiece since MP-01 and finally buy MP Soundwave, but what is the point of a Soundwave without his cassettes? I know they recently did a re-release of Soundwave, and there are a lot of KO cassettes out there. Any recommendations for authentic cassettes? Any chance they are rereleasing them?

 

That re release had tonnes of QC issues. Probably better looking at second hand...
You might want to look at the original Hasbro version that had all the cassettes included. Not sure what it goes for these days though...

 

welcome to your new addiction!   i hope this guide can help you along your way. unfortunately, finding some older figures (especially fans toys) will be hard unless you're willing to pay the late tax. just stay patient and don't go overboard. have a game plan in mind before you just go off buying everything.

Personally, I not a fan of MP-44. That said, will there be a Movie Masterpiece of Bumblebee Prime?

 

i think all the G1 Prime options are great. you really can't go wrong.

as for an MPM Bumblebee Prime, i'm sure it'll happen. I find it hard to believe Hasbro/Takara would not cash in on that (although they haven't done an MPM AOE Prime as of yet). until then the 3A is a good option but it doesn't transform. ToyWorld's version just released few weeks ago and there are few more upcoming 3rd party options as well.

 

Fingers crossed that it will happen.

how do you like the TW version? mine is currently being shipped.

 

I like it for the movie-accurate look, but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I have to file the side panels quite a bit to make the alt mode flush almost perfectly.
