Did they give Runamuck fake wheels on his feet so that he has 2 on each foot like the G1 toy? Because that's a detail literally no one was asking for and just makes it look worse

Everyone focusing on his dual feet wheels and missing his chest isn't his alt's roof.

WfC is truly MP-lite. Right down to faking kibble/alt parts to remain accurate.

Maybe this will finally convince people it's time to move on from 30 year old animation models and start doing some new stuff.

 

I'm happy they're finally making a Runamuck that isn't an expensive exclusive.

 

Something is just off about sunstreaker and it makes me upset after how perfect sideswipe was

You're right, we should stop slavishly trying to recreate G1 and just explore new ways of presenting existing characters so we don't have to compromise the design to fit a 30 year old toy/animation model.

 

Only thing hasbro read from that post is recreate g1

 

As I've stated before, the main appeal is the top of the jet mode... the figure has so many backward things with it that to me, every time I see any picture of it, all of these faults are screaming at me and I just end up wishing they'd never did it and had done a much better version.

I'm happy for you if you like it, but I'm just going to skip it and wait for the better versions to be done in either the next series or next line... but I will note that by then, I might have given up of doing the type of collecting that I've done with the last few lines, especially Siege and might have no interest is such new seekers. To me, the Siege ones are great, the figures in robot mode are amazing and the plane mode is futuristic and works for me. I never really cared that much about the seekers as the F15s anyways, which is ironic as I'm a plane and tank guy. I've actually enjoyed a few of the non G1 F15 versions of the seekers throughout the years.

For Runamuck, glad to see better images... but still aren't that great.

It looks interesting, the two wheels thing seems to be a hindrance as they appear to stick under the car and might be one of those "screw up the ground clearance" thing...

And then there's AHHHHHHHHHHH.. what they heck did they do with the back of his legs???

So.. yeah... He was a "will probably get" to a "got to see the final version on video".

 

Well, I feel some of the WFC molds capture G1 animation damn near perfect.....and some obviously had to make compromises to meet the budgetary and time constraints. Jetfire, Scorponok, Omega, Earthrise Prime, Earthrise seekers, Sky Lynx, Hoist, Snapdragon, Apeface...all are awesome. Runamuck, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack, Cliffjumper, Ratchet/Ironhide and Astrotrain are all solid if not perfect. Arcee's bot mode looks better than the MP..... except for the backpack.....and is a lot better than Thrilling 30 in my opinion. The weakest, to me, is Earthrise Megatron.....seriously they should have just skipped him all together and used the slot for another seeker or the as yet to be seen Blaster. The headsculpt is the biggest problem to me....Siege was a MUCH better head sculpt and alt mode. If they had done a totally new mold and engineering for him and figured out how to get the tank's gun barrel to go up his back like G1 I would have bitten, but he is a total pass for me and I have collected every other figure released in WFC, so that is a big thing to me. Siege is my go to Megs.

He's so henchman I love it. I kinda want them to do a Devastation repaint so you can do an army of Vehicons.

 

Huge difference in terms of figures...

Astrotrain can't be a full sized shuttle, that's a no-brainer unless they do him as a Titan, but he's still impressive enough in size. and can work as a miniature version.

Grapple is part of the cars that drive around together.. being so small next to the cars and OP (that's a bit small for a truck), he just looks completely out of wack. They could have easily done him big enough, or do some engineering that would have boosted his size.

What can I say? I have pareidolia for crotch-faces. TR Doublecross and MP Cheetor have similar pelvic personas.

 

I'm really looking forward to Sunstreaker personally. I couldn't care less about Runamok, also I can't unsee the evil crotch face... *shudders* Primus help me, his crotch has more personality than his entire figure...

I have waited literal decades for a proper articulated Runamuck, and I am not disappointed! Glad I did not buy the TFCC Battlechargers - though I do admit I did buy an extra RvtS Wheeljack and Tracks for customizing... which I never did.
I don’t mind the fake extra wheel, given the mechanism was what stopped the originals from being articulated, there was no way to move the back wheel to the feet. Also cool they added the gold rim on the sides, always preferred that to cartoon accuracy. Do wish they kept the orange parts but not a big deal. Here is hoping Runabout gets a new head. New gun would be good but I can live without it.
Now, the only trouble I have is finding a sucker, erm, buyer for Cybertron Runamuck!

Edit: Huh, only noticed now he has purple eyes. Not sure why (too much dark energon?) but not bad.

It’s a nice hommage to how the originals looked, as they had auto-transform pull back action, their rear wheels flipped down to the robot feet.

 

The fake chest on Runamuck sucks. I have the TFCC Battlechargers, so I’ll probably hold off on these new ones for now, maybe see if Takara does some kind of exclusive retool at some point.

 

For me it's the shoulders. Sideswipes sit too low, while Sunstreaker has ultra Magnus-esc shoulders.
