Cybertron Defense Scattorshot is a Voyager class toy from the Cybertron toyline (2005/2006). This review focuses on its Japanese release for Galaxy Force, GC-20 Backgild. Packaging Spoiler Instructions show how to use the extra "target" to practice shooting. Spoiler Robot mode CD Scattorshot has a solid, heavy, bulky robot mode, with a well characterised head and an impressive military appearance. Its gimmick, deploying massive weapons from the already massive arm-mounted missile launchers, is fully available in this mode. Two minicons can be connected to its legs. Articulation is great by 2005 standards, and mediocre for today's level. There are few poses CD Scattorshot can hold convincingly. Its feet are wide and quite unposeable - it's amazing how badly we have always needed ankle articulation, the lack of an ankle joint hurts this figure, but it was indeed rare at the time. Transformation CD Scattorshot's transformation is quite basic. The main hurdle is the tightness of some joints - maybe because it's 15 years old. One of the two weapons deploys without the key just by itself - not a good sign. Might be bad QC, or the age of the toy. Alternate mode Scattorshot's alternate mode is my favourite mode. Massive weaponry, clean design, rotating an poseable turret, no complaints here. Its gun or minicons can be connected to the sides. If you work for it, you can see its head under the lifted launchers. Overall, CD Scattorshot is one of the best molds to come out from the Unicron Trilogy, and probably one of the top 3 voyager/mega class molds. Limited for today, excellent for its time, all things considered I give CD Scattorshot a 8/10.
This was probably one of my most favorite figures in the Cybertron/GF line. I bought almost every repaint of it that came from it too
The Cybertron/Galaxy Force line is really what Armada should have been. Great poseable(for their time) transforming figures with gimmicks that (mostly) don't hamper the toy. Really love most of the line.
