    Thanks, I appreciate it.

I came out okay, managed to find a part time job after a few months, making half what I used to,and have to pay for my own insurance, but make enough to get by. One of the people I work with lost his house then found out he got cancer. Currently living with one of his kids. Thankfully they recently told him it looks like he beat it and is recovering. Wasn't just us, several other colleges were closed as well. It basically came down to the individual organizations were good, but the corporate owners were corrupt and we all paid for it. The ones I feel the worse for are the students. Losing their education so some assholes could get bonuses. Wrote the ones I could recommendations and tried to help the best I could, but I wasn't in a position where I could do much. I hope to god most of them came out okay.

I Keep applying for full time work and extra part time work at other places. But the virus is limiting my options. Already lost my summer employment because of it. Sadly lots of people around the country in similar positions, It's been a crappy year. Hopefully things turn around and things go back to semi normal for everyone soon. It's a bad time for everyone.

But you gotta look at the good and don't obsess over the bad. (Easy to say but hard as heck to do) Anyone in a similar position hope it gets better for you as well.

    Sorry for the rant.

I really hope you can get back on your feet soon. Corporate greed is killing this country. This year really sucks.

I ordered the Knightfall omnibus volume 2 and then went ahead and ordered volume 3 because it seemed to be out of stock in several places (a problem that seems to be common with a number of omnibuses... have to get them quick or pay inflated prices on the secondary market). I haven't read a lot of these issues in a long time, though I still have a lot of them in storage. Jean-Paul Valley is still reasonably sane in the early issues of volume 2. He has already adopted that ridiculous over-designed Batman costume, though of course that look is deliberate (and will get worse, as I recall). And speaking of ridiculous costumes, I had forgotten how absurd 90s Catwoman's costume was... she's essentially drawn as though she's running around naked, painted purple.

I'm not quite sure all the issues are organized in the order they should be, given that the early Detective Comics issues in the volume detail Jean-Paul's musings on beating Bane and beginning his "crusade", and then five or six issues in there's a similar issue of Batman where he acts like it's his first mission. And then Tim Drake is kicked out of the Batcave after Jean Paul almost kills him, only to walk calmly in later on, so it seems as though some issues ought to have been placed differently. I do appreciate that like volume 1, volume 2 does not have issues strictly in publication order, but keeps stories that cross over between different series together so the stories make sense.

Some of this material feels like high art compared to where much of DC is today, though they're still putting out a few good series. I'm glad I waited to buy any collected versions of Knightfall since these books are probably the most definitive and complete collection we're likely to see.

I've dropped Young Justice (2019 -). The dialogue was a mixed bag, and it felt like it was dragging on a bit.

However, I did pick up Batman: Gotham Nights #12. A decent story, but at 14 pages...sounds a bit pricey, even at 79p, although it is still reasonable.

Haven't been reading Gotham Knights but that's about how I'd describe the rest of the digital reprint series I've been checking out. Though the Wonder Woman one saw a definite uptick once Connor/Palmiotti stories ran out.

The idea Superman would like any Metallica album seems so misjudged to me. Worse is the idea that he owns not only the black album but every Metallica album produced after the black album, which just makes him look like an idiot with zero taste or discrimination. At least there's the tiny saving grace that his favorite is the final Metallica album before they sold out and became a hollow shell of the former band. I can't remember, but was it Joe Kelly that wrote that issue? Blech. This deserves to be forgotten along with other idiotic ideas like Mopee the extradimensional imp being the real source of Barry Allen's powers.

What a tragedy we missed Brett Booth's horrific attempt at recreating classic images by better artists. Oh wait, now we get to see it. :(

And also once again we get to see that there is nothing so bad that it can't be made worse by sticking Batman Who Laughs into it.

Thank you for saying this so I didn’t have to. I just don’t see Superman being a Metallica fan, it just doesn’t feel right to me.

Hmm, some interesting moments they picked out here. Could have done without Max Lord neck snap being included but interesting to see when other artists visualize prior events.

Yeah this just seems weird, like the author wanted to pointlessly contemporize Superman but didn't have any idea how besides "Hey, the kids like Metallica, right? That'll make Superman sound hip and modern."

Ugh, please no. What's with the sudden resurgence of the Wildstorm characters popping back up? It was a failed mess in the early days of the New 52 shoehorning these characters into the DC universe and it doesn't make any more sense now.

I would love if they got the oldschool WildCATS team back together.
