The Seeker 2 pack is more akin to the Siege Rainmaker set which sat in 3 different targets near me for months.

That sound you can hear is eight year old me high fiving forty year old me for staying the course. These two got me through some right times as a nipper.

That they're back again in the main toy line kicking its ass is a dream come true.

Snake... on a plane. Yes, I've been sitting on this dreadful joke for about five days now. No, I'm not ashamed.

They are Generations Selects toys, so at some point Hasbro will officially announce them and have them on Pulse. Anyone that has them now, or has them on pre-order either got them from Aisa or they fell off a truck.

Got myself a deal earlier today... a Doubledeal(er)! He's a bit awkward out of the box for me, but then after messing about and taking some photos, figuring out all the little bits and pieces, he's a damn solid offering. I love just how un-apologetic this guy is! Big, beefy, massive missile-gun and those colours are pure mid-late-80s goodness! Camera Battery ran out of charge, so there'll be more fun being had tomorrow.

You know the Phantomstrike Squadron was available for retail price at Amazon for months after it released, right?

Exactly. Only reason people are upset at not being able to get it was because they waited for it to go on sale and it never did. Instead it sold out and everyone that waited missed out.

I've seen the same with people about Omega (though he's still fairly easy to get) that would rant about how great they were because they knew... they KNEW that he's go on special for Black Friday and they'd pay so much less than all the "suckers" that have paid full price... the sale never happened, and they had to backtrack and go on about that they never really wanted him in the first place...

I got mine at 20% off (as a pre-order) and was fine with that.

The Phantomstrike set was going for about 70$CAD, and a bit rich for me, but when someone caught it (as a sighting) for 54$, I jumped and quite happy about it..

That said... some people simply do not shop online at all, don't have credit cards, are starting to collect, and "out of the game" away dealing with life for a bit and when they return, they end up missing out... part of the "game", but still sucks that some figures, like Skywarp, are exclusive that may be outside some people's ability to obtain. I understand figures that are the secondary characters, obscure ones or such, but from the main "cast".. that's just a dick move. Heck even Thundercracker was a pain to get for a while before it flooded the market.

And Redwing for a nasty example, being a Target "Red card" special, was 100% unavailable for many... sure it was a secondary character, but even as an exclusive, he was a higher level....I couldn't get him without getting another credit card that I absolutely did not want... no, that was flat out wrong. And the Toy R Us had him for a whole few minutes before it sold out. I ended up just painting myself one from an extra Starscream... no regrets, but it does suck for anyone that doesn't do customs. And the several others that were flat out hard to get (Springer is probably the worst for Siege, while POTP Rodimus Unicronus was a flash item.. you saw it, you get it (if you wanted it) otherwise it was gone never to be seen again.

I just hope that they just don't do this with ER... heck just the exclusive Brunt recolour and accessory pack is close to being just this, but he is a side character, so not that important.

So it's give and take on why someone didn't get a figure.

Robotkingdom had Redwing for months for a fairly reasonable price, in fact I had him in had about 2 months before he released in North America. The sad truth is that without exclusives we wouldn't get nearly as many characters (or molds) in any given line because Hasbro has to meet their quota for mold reuse. If they can't shuffle the repaints into exclusives then that eats into the amount of molds that would be in any given line. Some may say exclusives are a dick move, but the other perspective is that without exclusives some of those characters wouldn't even come out (though yes, the USA release of Red Wing as a Target Red Card exclusive was absolutely a dick move).

It's not much different than getting it from the former TFClub or Convention exclusive.

As someone in the US, i kind of disagree with springer and even rod cron being hard to acquire. Hell i got rod cron well in the siege time. In fact after a quick search, rod cron is still available from pulse.

i understand that people have different reasons to not be able to get certain toys and can understand not wanting a credit card just for one toy. In the case of redwing, that was truly awful. When it comes to amazon though, any non store gift card (such as a visa gift card) could have been used to make the purchase.

people being against online shopping is also hard to believe because for a lot of people, its the only way some can get stuff. The only “toy stores” I have near me is target. Id have to travel yo a different state to see a walmart. That with the demise of TRU, lets just say it feels like my part of the city is “forgotten”

So he does share, at the very least, wheeljacks architecture. Cant wait for his release.

Edit: looking at these photos, ive figured out his full transformation. Basically hes very similar to wheeljack except the back of wj legs are the front of ss. Also the arms are “reversed” where wheeljack shoulders were the rear bumber and sunstreakers forearms are the rear bumper. I like it. Its different enough from wj while still being a retool of sorts. Very cool.

edit2: looking at his arms again and the alt mode, his forearm ports face up in altmode. This gives him the opportunity to have a spoiler. Oh man. I wanna give him arm blades. This crazy idea popped into my head. A spoiler could be designed to mimic the Lambo SV spoiler and have is split down the middle. Thus giving him arm blades. I want it yesterday. 1C4255DF-0AAB-4E87-A05B-D595F857E6E3.jpeg

Sunstreakers chest and alt mode are just SOOOOOOO bad.- chest is too big, and too square, turbo charger is sitting in the wrong place and too big and the entire back of the car just looks unfinished/empty behind it. Shoulders are really bad looking too. And there’s even something I find just a touch “off” about the head that I can’t put my finger on... maybe he looks too friendly?

His proportions are terrible too, skinny uniform width arms(no contrast between shoulder/bicep/forearm), dumpy-looking, boxy lower legs and that oversized chest.
