This is something I've started thinking about when it comes to combined mode, where the limbs don't have any logos visible, but in car mode they do. I probably want logos on the vehicles but just not sure I want them visible on every limb in combined mode.

Yeah I think you're right, any bigger might not look right. I've applied it now and I'm pretty happy with the final results:

 

Amazing job, it's a mighty fine figure you've got there, the off-white you've used really pops, well done. Oddly enough, I thought after seeing your figure done up I would seriously detest the silver but strangely enough I'm still okay with it although I definitely prefer this as I'm a toon fanatic.

I'd be happy, too. When I first saw the final paint on Magnum I thought I might try to paint the square a matching silver, but I could possibly live with it as is. After seeing yours, though, I think I have to pull the whole thing apart and find a nice pearlescent white. Yours looks perfect; out of the box just looks wrong now.

If anyone wants to do the same I used Tamiya white primer and pearl white spray cans for it. Taking him apart is easy enough fortunately and I just taped off parts that couldn't be removed like the black middle rectangle.
I'd be interested to see how it looks with just the middle square painted silver to match the rest. That would probably look better next to Spoilers silver chest also.

 

Y'know, I gotta use primer for my future projects, haha. I use paint + primer sprays regardless, but maybe it would help a bit more to use a separate primer before paint?

 

I've used paint + primer sprays, but I've never used a separate primer for anything in my life. Aside from so-called "unpaintable plastics" I can't say I've ever had an issue.

 

the best primers i found are the Army Painter primers , they come in loads of different colours , big cans that last longer than tamiya , cover really really well much better than the tamiya primer especially for light sprays and dry really quick , i use tamiya ts cans for the main coat and tamiya clear coats

all combined results in a really solid strong finish .... put it this way , before we got an official mp11 skywarp i tried doing one myself just happens we got an official one before i finished but recently i was looking at the parts i painted and tried to scratch the paint off with a key and all it done was scratch a bit of the top coat it didn't budge any of the paint job

 

Right, I hear you. In retrospect, I think I actually meant a BASE COAT instead of primer, haha.

Yep, you heard it here first, my Whirl never got a base coat, dirty amateur I am, lol.

 

Yeah the white primer was a must, the pearl white is quite translucent so needed the white primer underneath to have it all matching.

I might try painting the square silver first, just to see how I like it, but I really like how @Chris C137's turned out.

Very strange to go to a separate ebay listing and buy a box or something so he could use a different method? And then they shipped it today. I had my pre order payment then full price payment which is weird paying off that. You gotta go to this one dollar item and raise the quantity to how much your balance is and buy that sku. Then I had to buy another sku to have it shipped on ebay lol

Not sure how he keeps track of all that shit but its shipped now.

 

I went a size bigger, but then I removed it and used the size you have shown. Looks better imho. If you wanted to see what it would have looked one size up:

 

Just received my Magnum from the Chosen Prime and it's wonderful. Very glad I switched to this set.
