An interesting if not predictable development. I'm in agreement with many others that Starscream is the only member of the current MP lineup that I felt 'needed' an update. MP-11 was looking tired, so tired I felt it necessary to sell him as he just didn't work along side my other MPs. That said I've been skipping G1 MP releases for sometime now due to aesthetics and price, not to mention variable QC. This is going to have too look truly amazing and a truly reasonable price for me to pre-order, Im more likely to see how it turns out, what for the Maketoys Meteors to hit the aftermarket, pick one of those up and wait for the reviews of this guy. If he turns out alright and I'm suitably impressed I MIGHT go in on the inevitable reissue.

Price prediction 35-40,000 yen.

 

No kidding. If it's not included someone is gonna have a meltdown.

 

To be completely honest I am completely done with Masterpiece. If I get any now it's KO.

Never thought I'd say it about an MP toy but "meh" I dont feel like the old toys were bad or needed a 3.0.

 

TBF, Soundwave + Cassettecons could have (not need, have) a good toon upgrade, in terms of scale too.
I don't think Scream will cost more than Nemesis Prime, so 26.000 yen.

 

I'm thinking 200-225 US. About the only thing remotely similar is Macross and tgats about ehat ypur looking at pre-add ons. Don't think he'll be more than BW Megatron, but in the same instance they have quite a few repaint they can sell, hopefully Skywarp and Thundercracker are general releases.

 

Going by Dinobot, Tigatron, Megatron, and Black Convoy, SS V3 should be a cool $250.

 

I feel relatively confident. I’d like to think he won’t go over $300, and that’s probably reasonable to assume. I think the highest he’d go is 280. But 250 would be the best for Takara standards.

 

Well I did say 'needed' didn't I? I don't 'need' an update to MP-13 (and certainly not an excessively toon one!), it might be nice to have but I am very happy with MP-13, indeed he is currently the centrepiece of my G1 MP collection. I'm vaguely interest in what Fanstoys are doing with theirs but far from convinced I'll shell out for it and the cassetticons have already been done so well by MMC.

I guarantee you he'll cost more them 'Nemesis Prime', there is zero chance they won't pack in a stand and a raft of accessories with this to 'warrant' charging at least as much as they did for MP-43 Megatron. Plus people will pay it, its not a throw away niche repaint, it's one of the most popular G1 characters and considered essential to most collectors... they'll pay whatever TT is asking and they know that

Yup; I doubt Takara is going to keep raising prices. They may have raised the prices this high in order to "ensure" they account for inflation in the future. That is the 100% logical reason.
