Fair enough. I love seeing the 9 man long cameras everyone's been posting. One or two more repaints and we'll get a lethal weapon to bludgeon our enemies with
My thoughts on Earthrise so far: Good, buuuut... Grapple and Starscream look great but Grapple is way too orange. In G1, he was so yellow-orange that one could argue he was yellow. Starscream looks really good, buuuut...his articulation sucks compared to the Siege version. His legs don't move near as far, his wrists don't rotate, his arms are too short to cross over his chest and he can't hold his weapons in the way the Siege version in the picture is.
No, they want you to buy the four pack to get Frenzy. Ratbat comes with Rumble, and I think there are places that have the set in stock now.
I don't understand all the hate. Threads are huge and filled with pointless posts. OSKO posts may lead into discussion of things that can be improved on. Of all the useless posts in the threads, what's so bad about OSKO posts?
My gripe is the tape deck gimmick is expensive to do what with the exclusively gimmicky molds that won't see any other use. Upgrade the characters to legends class and sell them in two packs, or make them proper target masters. Or not, I don't call the shots for good reason. I'd bring back the gobots on a whim.
To me, it's the attitude behind it. OSKO SOMETIMES has improvements to the figure, but other times its just.. big. It's pointless and skipping an official figure despite showing clear interest in it because it isn't gargantuan is just in bad taste.
But if that's how some people like their toys, is it something to get irritated over? Are there that many posts like that?
I’m tired of store exclusives of figures Hasbro knows are going to be sought after by the vast majority of collectors. Back when I used to collect LEGO, there were store exclusives but at least there was some stock on the LEGO website. I don’t understand why the same can’t be done with Pulse, because I don’t want to spend $100-$150 on the seekers two pack.
I don't get vocally irritated by it, but to me it is in bad taste. If you like the engineering and design of the toy, going out of ones way to say they'll skip the official release and instead support someone stealing the hard work put into the figure just because it's a couple inches taller is just crude. Third Party figures are illegal, sure, but at least they have more substance and very rarely overlap an official release (unless you're Zeta Toys). If you're going to get the mold, get it from the ones who made the mold.
I would if the Studio Series scaled with MPM. Since i like displaying my toys together and don't want to collect different scales, I have to wait for SS OSKOs.
I’m sick of exclusives period, in-store and online. It’s exhausting and frustrating to bear the anxiety of trying to pre-order an exclusive figure because of its limited availability. It’s friggin’ ridiculous that even pre-orders are selling out so quickly lately. The product isn’t even in-stock and it’s already sold out. I know it’s because each particular site or vendor is alotted an estimate of how much product they will receive as the basis for their pre-order counts. I just think the practice is more trouble than it’s worth. Exclusives run up the costs of everything and are ripe pickings for scalpers. Combine that with horrible distribution practices from Hasbro and the stores that carry the product and it paints a grim picture for the future of toy collecting. Just make everything available to everyone, everywhere. Good chance you’d sell more product and make more money by lowering costs that way.
The only OSKO I can personally give a positive review for is the POTP Dinobots from Black Mamba or Wei Jiang or BlackJiangWeiMamba or WTF they're actually calling themselves as they hold their hand out... The size is what they should've been from the get-go. Hasbro's versions are really nice and it's great that they finally gave us a full set in today's articulation, but the size just wasn't right. I'm not into oversizing figures, in general, or KOs, but these I feel fit so much better than the originals.
Y'know what's an underrated part of a figure? Personality. It's easily the most memorable feature, and why I prefer HTFD seaspray, foc Kickback, and generations scourge to their successors. This is also my biggest beef with Seige mirage, I feel like he lacks the identity of his universe counterpart. When a figure has a specific altmode and unique robot mode, you don't even need to know the character to want it. Take Zetar. Nobody was thinking about this guy, and yet he manages to come off as more endearing than his mold-mate brunt because of that big dopey screw head of his. Other figures that ooze personality are... ROTF Mindwipe Gen Powerdive Gen darkmount TH30 Springer/ Sandstorm RTS wreck-gar RID 2016 Decepticons in general ER Hoist And my personal favorite, RTS Lugnut
What the fuck is Hasbro smoking that makes them think it is a good idea to re-release the same figures that are still on shelves but at nearly twice or thrice their price? Who tf is gonna spend $40 on a backpack with legs Or $130 on a figure that has a worse paint job than the original $40 version, and to top it off the packaging won't even let you see the figure?
1) TFSource is not Hasbro. 2) TFSource is not Walmart, who has the US exclusive rights to the Netflix deco figures. 3) Other US based stores have to get Asian market stock in order to sell the figures. Asian market figures are much more expensive despite having no changes except trivial ones in packaging and instructions. 4) These stores have to sell based on Asian pricing and still need to make a profit on top of that after importing figures without Hasbro's help. 5) Normal leader pricing is $50, not $40. 6) Yes, no one still likes Chromia. 7) UM set (also has red clear Rung redeco and 3 tiny energon cubes) is $60 online but $35 at brick & mortar Walmarts in order to clear stock.
I hate the prevalent use of PVC on Studio Series Shockwave. A blemish on an otherwise awesome looking figure.
Holy shit is that new SS Devastator the ugliest piece of shit I have ever seen! What the fuck is that?!?! Certainly no movie Devy, that's for certain. Like an ugly-ass generic combiner with colors kinda like the movie and an ugly Mismaster wanna be head. It actually makes Ultimate Devastator become desirable, that's how horrendous this thing is. Robot legs, even though he was like a gorilla in the movie. Was screen accuracy even in the plan? I mean, it's SS, you would thinm so. But I guess not. And that's all I gotta say about that.
PS, since when did this thread become the Argue My Rant thread? That's rant worthy in itself: I rant, you can click like or not, maybe ask for further rantiness, but just let a rant be a rant, FFS! Not sixteen replies to a rant.
