Thank you! The shins were tricky since they sit so tight near the trunk, but with a bit of shaving they managed to fit for alt mode. If they would have contacted you then they could have KOed your most recent version. Thank you! I hope I can do a similar thing for Dropkick, though he looks pretty awesome as is.
Yes, a pin is added. I saw some one else just use a ball joint to attach the doors and it looks just as effective and possibly easier.
That is amazing. Do you have a link to the head swap mod by chance? I found an energon igniter Shatter at the discount store, and would love some guidance on swapping the heads out.
Instead of doing a full head swap, I opted for a face transplant. Doing the face transplant enabled me to keep the original ball joint intact and the detail on the back of the head. I used a dremel going slow and steady cutting the face off. I then reattached it with glue and a few pins to stabilize. Hope that helps.
@Shmoptimus Prime Do you also own Jet Shatter? If you do, could we get a comparison? Because this thing is insane.
I do! However I don't have her on-hand ATM. I'll try to get a comparison in here soon. Feel free to remind me if I forget, too hehe
What did you do to attach the door to the (former) shoulder pad? Just superglue it together? I find glue only holds so well, especially when involving the stresses of transformation. Then it just snaps off. I’m thinking of attempting this but I just worry it’ll never hold up.
I used paper clips sections to solidify the connection. I drilled small corresponding holes on the doors and front fender sections, then glued small sections of the paper clips into the holes while also gluing the edges together. The paper clips act as rods that go perpendicular to seam where the door and fender meet. I hope that makes sense. If not I can attempt to illustrate.
