I have the XTB Stunticons. I like their toon accurate design, but in my opinion Deathwish (has a broken leg after first transformation), Flipout, Crackup and Overheat are a too small compared to the toon version. I think DX9 and Fanstoys have hit the right size with the Stunticons. I know finding the rigth size is difficult. I never saw Autobots cars and Stunticons in one scene. Now I decided to switch to DX9. Fanstoys is too expensive for me (250 € for Spoiler at ebay... lmao). I like DX9 Stunticons excepts Motormaster. Gravestone looks a lot better than Capone and I will keep him.
Has any one had any success getting MONTANA connected in leg mode securely? I bought the adapter for Henry and he’s looking good but I’m having a helluva time getting Montana and when connected is very loose....Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Doesn't their motormaster figure come with a small adapter for him? Pretty sure I got one and he is rock solid. It's wildrider who flops off. Sorry can't remember the DX9 names properly! Man those pics are great, we have THREE beautifull Stunticon sets to choose from, no wonder i'm getting all 3, they are all just that good.
Ok thanks! I forgot about the adapter! Now to see if I can get it in... ye it’s great, I sold my X-Transbots all four of them because I got tired of waiting but I regret it now as some have skyrocketed in price...Hopefully they will put out a box set
Finally got around to combining these four! Couldn’t hold out any longer...I must say that this set really makes you work for it, but this guy is shaping up to be an absolute BEAST!! The tolerances are super tough and some connection points are really hard to get in,but overall I’m very impressed so far...Shout out to my man (Transgobot)whom I purchased the Henry leg adapter! Works great and looks great...
Glad you like it! I'm actually shipping out another one today! Thankfully the connection of Dead End is solid! No work needed for that!
Hey guys, Would you say the Kukinski /Dead End figure is worth it as a standalone MP? Is he approx 8 inches tall in robot mode? The price seems fair . The video reviews make it seem like he's sturdy with no glaring problems. The only negatives seem to be the forearm clunkiness, mismatched colors in arms/legs and the combined Menasor involves putting the smaller guys onto a framework of a skeleton (like the G1 mistakenly drew) I was going to wait for Fans toys version but their stuff seems to sell out insanely fast and they're already saying it will be more expensive than the Lim bots because it will come with all the combined kibble. This thread seems to falll of compared to xtrans and FT dtunticon threads. Why?
I am also collecting the 3 sets, and to be honest, all of them are perfectly fine. You might prefer one over the other depending on your own sensibilities, and you won’t be wrong. I just got DX9 MotorMaster, I thought I would not like their version at all (got dx9 set to display in combined mode) but I actually like how easy the transformation was, it feels like a toy you can really play with, plus it cleans up really nice. Here they are at my office, at work.
DX9 bots are generally playable. They put more emphasis on design/transformation when compared to other companies.
Yeah, I completely agree, it shows as well with Menasor's skeleton. It is fun and sturdy, just with the exception of the "groin" ratchets, they are scary tight, but completely manageable.
Sorry for the poor lighting and dust (didn't realize it was that bad until I looked at the picture), this is just a display space not where I usually take pictures. The plan is, after DX9's Dragstrip comes out, to put all the DX9 Stunticons into combined mode and stick them onto Attila. Then I'll put the Fans Toys Stunticons in bot mode where the DX9 guys are now. Getting back to DX9, though, I think Kukinski's the best one so far. The engineering is similar to Henry's, but his torso is more cartoon-accurate and his joint tolerances are better.
Yep, they look just about perfect to me as a team. And personally, I like my Stunticons to be able to go eye-to-eye with my Aerialbots. I consider the slightly oversized car modes to be a fair trade off. Truth be told, I don't find the size difference between these guys' alt modes and the standard MP car to be that significant.
I'll decide after the details surrounding the trailer(s?) is revealed. They're either going to be in alt mode, or I'll get the (toy) trailer and make a toy/Studio OX Menasor.
Got my dead end today from TCP after FedEx rode about it with in their truck for 3 solid days according to tracking. I think he might be the best one yet! In large part its because his pelvis can tilt slightly into his torso and his kneeds can bend slightly forward past strict vertical, which means he has a much more dynamic and interesting stance than the wildrider (or most FT figures) which helps hide how skinny he is. Legs are not straight lines, FT designers! It looks bad! Only thing I'm not in love with is how you pull the head out. Otherwise, dead end is the one I'm closest to buying a 2nd of so I can have them in combined and robot mode, and I've literally only ever done that once before.
I did it for Motormaster and Breakdown. Now I have my comparison thread post up comparing all three Wildriders.
These guys don't work in any scale except with each other. If that doesn't bother you, then sure! Probably because we have our torso and they don't. There's a lot more speculation to be done over there.
