I "accidentally" ended up with two of each. Just in case!

I'd say Lion Voltron is the most popular of the Japanese super robots here in the U.S. If Voltes had gotten the same exposure over here, I would have gotten one, no hesitation. And I still might...

Yeah I bought another GoLion because of the reissue and I prefer Dairugger so I preordered everywhere just in case. Now I think having some extras is good because I want to display in both modes down the road.

I came upon Voltes V later in life. I don’t really get too stuck on just nostalgia buying. For me getting the other robots that existed at the time even tons of stuff I had no prior knowledge of is important to me. I love the context around the robots, getting anyone important. I can fall in love with a robot in my 40s exactly the same way I did when I was 8.

No difference I am just stupid enough that I wanted to lock down the second run just in case.

I did not know about DX Voltes V until today, but promptly ordered one through Amazon Japan. I wanted the flexibility of easy cancellation in case I change my mind or better pre-order prices pop up domestically later on.

Can we reasonably expect good joint tightness that will last in a DX SOC? (I've never handled the DX SOC Combattler) I loved the SOC Voltes V but my copy has some pretty loose leg joints now just from standing in a display case all these years.

Cool. I was thinking there was some kind of improvement. Im also thinking on getting some other chogokins (that I didnt enjoy as a kid because there was no exposure to most of them) that looks really cool, being one Voltes V.

No doubt Voltes will show up in my possession at some point. And most of the super robot stuff I've gotten was unknown to me just a few years ago at age 40 (barring the Voltrons). I'd prefer a GX-31 to display with my others largely due to size....just hoping for a reissue...

Per amz-jp, got until 11/29 Japan-time to decide if I want to cancel this DX-SOC or not.

You can get the 40th anniversary from NY for the price of the DX, lol. In all seriousness I see them pop up on Mandarake. The Voltes in the Box edition with is by far the most gorgeous Voltes released. I really was hoping they’d to that with the DX.

This Godaikin color scheme destroys all others...

I was on an all the SOC quest two years ago I am short all the ships. They look great but I can find things I want to spend the $$$ on more. And I am not chasing down every repaint. Then they got into the PR stuff which is not my thing and the engineering is atrocious on the Megazord stuff, that sort of broke me in terms of being a completist.

Wow you have some collecting admiration from me. I am trying to hit all the figures but not all the paint jobs. I’ll have to google the Tetsujin DVD release.

The fact that some of the GX-31 sets approach the price of the DX is what is pushing me toward the DX. Plus, I assume any GX-31 reissue is going to cost $350+ anyway. Maybe I'm wrong...I don't know. I think it's just the physical size of the DX that's keeping me from jumping in as much as anything else. Getting harder to resist...

The GX-31 isn’t all that big. If they released it at $350+ it would be a massive joke, it’s not even Tryder scale. Voltes just has the all of SE Asia middle-East plus Italy thing going on. So while inside the US no one knows him everyone else fucking buys him up in a hot minute. I think the DX is going to sell like hotcakes. Articulated fingers plus they cut their teeth on Combattler. This should be a homerun.

Prices just floor me these days, sometimes. Lol. I saw an old listing on BBTS a little while back (the listing was from around 2018, I think) and they were selling Voltes for just shy of $200. With the way prices seem to be headed just about everywhere else, nothing would surprise me.

Is there some kind of Tamashii event featuring the DX this weekend? I'm really curious as to how much hip articulation it has. I was impressed by how much the GX-31 seems to have and am hopeful the DX can pull off something close.
