Uh, well ya heh... I guess it is that a whole large panel has to be taken off and reattached to complete transformation.

Is TFSafari the only place to get it?

Anybody know where to get the right tool to knock out the pin? I had a spare pin lying around I tried to use but this thing is stubborn in my Cliffjumper

Did you heat it first? Are you hitting the textured end?

I did not heat it. Advice told me to put force on the end OPPOSITE of the textured end. Was I supposed to do the opposite?

I had trouble getting mine out too. I ultimately made it work by heating up the pin at the textured end with the tip of a soldering iron. When you do this, the heat radiates to the plastic around the metal, making it more malleable. Then use your pin to push at the smooth end.

Touching the plastic directly with a soldering iron will melt it real quick, so be careful to only touch the pin itself. Don't be in a rush: heat the pin for 10-15 sec, try to push it through, if it doesn't budge heat it some more. Alternately, you might be able to get it to work with a hair dryer or hot air gun, but those are less focused sources of heat, so be careful. You might also try setting the piece in not-quite-boiling hot water for a minute.

You should be able to get one for cheap, and they're generally useful for removing pins if this ever comes up for you again.

But, like I mentioned, there are other methods. The hot water trick ought to be safe. Just microwave a mug of water for about 2 min, then let the part sit in there for a min, then carefully fish it out with a spoon, and push on the smooth end. Soaking it for longer should make it softer. This technique works well for the soft plastics of action figures, but I think it should be fine for hard plastic too. I just don't know how much heat is needed to get it soft enough to pop out the pin.

No you were pushing correctly. I just know sometimes, in my experience, that you think you’re pushing the right way and turns out your not. Also the soldering iron will help vastly.

Managed to get it out, and the part installed!

Now the difficulty is getting used to transforming him like this.

I finally decided to get Earthrise Cliffjumper because of this kit. Cliff arrived from Amazon before the kit arrived from TfSafari, so I had a solid week to mess around with him. He is absolutely fun, and his engineering more than makes up for the size. I still took issue with the partsforming, though. After receiving the kit yesterday and installing it today, Cliffjumper feels much more complete to me.

I don't get why people keep coming to this thread to run their mouth. This is a thread about a 3rd party add on for Cliffjumper. Not a thread about the actual figure.

I'm not running my mouth man. Lol, you really agro over a toy right now. I just don't get the angst. I didn't say I didn't I hated. Wasn't putting it down, or you down. Just personally think it's not worth the trouble. I love 3P accessories. I have all sorts of crazy kits and weapons packs on some of my other ER figures. Just this one specifically doesn't seem worth the trouble. Now to do some deep breathing or something.

It interests me just because I enjoy modifying figures, but I don't know if it's feasable to get this anymore. That Grapple upgrade kit I ordered from TFSafari back in May still isn't here, it's been "released from Chicago customs" for weeks now.

because it was a legends sized and simplicity figure. Because the backpack didn’t actually need to be wholly spectate part. Because it’s just big leftover chunk of the vehicle mode that doesn’t even t Rey to look like a shield or something useful; it’s just the back 40% of the alt mode.

I don’t have a problem with parts forming. I have a problem with lazy design and be charged a premium for it.

I could have coped with a very over priced legends figure.
I could have coped with the half assed transformation.
But not both. Not *that* lazy a figure at *that* price.
