Wheter they succeed or not, is too soon to tell, but right now there's basically nobody doing IDW-style 'bots besides Mastermind Creation (and even they don't do MP scale) so their timing is right.

While MMC Carnifex reigns supreme, i'd personally love to see GC make an Overlord. If it's painted all up and is basically picturesque, it'd definitely be an interesting one to keep an eye on, especially since the aftermarket on MMC's is BRUTAL.

 

That looks really neat, hopefully the new gcreation optimus has improved hip and shoulder articulation, and btw does that kit allow for the full transformation, or does it relegate the figure to just being a statue? Thanks for the info.

Don't take this as gospel, but I believe the regular color comes with extra weapons. I did some digging because I prefer the regular colour but didn't want to miss out on the weapons and improved joints.

If you look on Taobao the listings there have more information than any English-language stores. Using Google Translate on a listing:

This information is consistent across multiple listings. So I think Nemesis will have 1 sword and 2 axes (which we've seen in the stock photos) and the regular color will have 1 sword and 1 axe.

I love more options when it comes to posing figures.

That axe is cool and the sword is kind of weird but unique looking.

Paint apps on the all black version are as sharp as hell.

I will keep him in robot mode and have to get hold of those extra parts.

I was conflicted between the three zero and Flame toys premium, versions of optimus. I feel like the gcreations version with upgrades is the perfect point in the middle.

So spoiled for choice when it comes to optimus.

My Darkness Maxmas is on its way from Mascotzone through eBay. I'm so excited! I have Op-Ex for Prime, but I always wanted this mould. I didn't want to buy two figures that're so similar, so the repaint is a perfect excuse to get one. Plus, extra weapons! £93/$118 including postage, bargain!

 

If Darkness Maxmas is coming out, I wonder when Ultra Maxmas comes out.
