I did have a good time. I actually got back home around 11:30pm and decided it wasn't worth staying up even 30 more minutes for the pre-order. Sleep felt good.
Thanks for the info If the past 12 years has taught me anything about Bandai DX preorders it’s this: Enjoy your sleep! Hopefully this DX VF-1S will be more available somehow whether soon or later. If they make a release without the 1st release stand I’d go for it. Come to think of it, Alto’s DX YF-29 will be on its 3rd or 4th release later this year. If that is being rereleased on grounds of popularity, then the DX VF-1S TV Roy Focker Special will probably be rereleased just as much if not more. It may not be right away but it’s likely.
Got one from AJ last night and logged off around 3:30. Wanted to stick around and get a backup/hookup but I knew my sleep was already compromised as it was. Don't think I feel asleep until around 6 am. Anyway, glad to wake up and see so many more managed to score one. Congrats!

Same here with Amazon. I saw the link at MW the second it was posted, then spent a good ten minutes unable to add one to my cart on one screen while watching everyone land one from Amazon on the other screen. I guess we didn’t know the secret handshake.

For those still stressed about not getting Roy, get one from Manda/any other secondary shops or ask around here if anyone got extras to sell upon release date. It's not worth getting a hernia/ulster or keeping a rage in till it explodes into total chaos then real s*** will kick in when you least expect it.

My recollection of the 1J is the opportunities popped up sporadically over the course of the time up to release. With a little luck, there's still likely a shot at getting one for retail. I was tempted to try and get one of these, but I have more than enough versions of the 1S. I think the only Macross stuff I'm gonna try and go nuts over would be that new Bandai 21 and if they do an 11B.
The DX VF-1J was a lot smoother to preorder on the 1st night but yes there were opportunities when preorders reopened leading up to its release. It’s only been less than a day now for the VF-1S so hopefully Bandai does us a solid and does the same for it.
That's pretty steep but I think probably worth it for those that want peace of mind. I've never ordered from Nin-Nin but heard some bad things about them. What's the consensus here? Are they more of like, a 3rd option type etailer?
Hopefully so, it's still the Valkyrie for a lot of people, myself included. And, if I'm being honest, I'd still probably get one if the stars aligned and I had an opportunity to just snap an order up. Bandai's preorders are a pain, but hopefully they know the demand for this piece and create opportunities for more people to get it.
