I already have T30 Arcee, but if ER Arcee doesn't have immense difficulty standing upright, I might actually buy it.

 

Thats why I ended up customizing my own MP scale Slash for my Dinobot shelf. I was going to spring for the Fansproject when it was on a deep sale, but the giant boobs and painted on thong was a huge turnoff. There is no reason at all that a robot would need to have big, round breasts. I'd rather suggest a female form than have an actual where possible.

Now that you pointed all that out, I'm really glad I didn't get the OS of the T30 for the MP stand-in. She looks like some trashy chick at a con cosplaying Arcee and i can't unsee it now, lol

 

I'd really love an Arcee that ditched the Barbie doll entirely, a design something along the lines of this artwork that a Sumit Sarker posted in one of the UK TF Facebook groups.

 

Yeah can see the wheels. But im sure she will get a main line figure not just the netflix one cause Bee was in that list and i doubt he would just be a netflix character.

 

Yeah, that would work for me. I keep looking at the Fanshobby MB-12 and thinking it suits my idea of a female robot far better than a lot of other options because it doesn't try to look like a sex doll.

 

Well, even with ER Arcee coming. I also have to say that I'm very interested in the Cyberverse version that looks like a teenage version of her.

 

I would love to see an official Minerva made like that, and an IDW Arcee remold from the same mold.

So I currently have the T30 version and I have to say that ER Arcee does most things better. T30 Arcee is by no means awful. For her first g1 inspired figure, I think it was a pretty solid debut. That said, the figure is a bit dated. ER Arcee has better proportions and articulation than T30 Arcee. Er Arcee also doesn’t have the weird bowed legs and pot belly and belly button (which I don’t even know why the T30 had it in the first place). All in all, I think the Er version of Arcee is a major upgrade and I’m really excited to get her.

 

I'm with you on there being a sore lack of an IDW1.0 contemporary Earth Mode Arcee, I was hoping that Earthrise would be that updated seeing as we got a more slavishly G1 Arcee with T30. *Sigh*

 

Given most cybertronians, males, tend to be squarish, why would the females also be squarish ?
I'm ok with female proportions, narrow shoulders and wide hips, but I'd rather not see a human body wear armor.

 

That's exactly what I'm saying. More rounded is okay and can work, but i don't want human anatomy on a bot. Female transformers don't need boobs, navels or butt cheeks any more than a male transformers needs a big codpiece or a gun folding out of his crotch.

Unless the bot looks like Tom Savini in From Dusk Til Dawn...

 

I think Arcee portrayal as a fembot is fine. I think like when Hound was released in age of extinction was a good example of representing a character that's not this universal image of male. He has a beer belly for example and chubby which is a good thing. More figures both male and female should have more diversity. Getting back to Earthrise Arcee I think she looks perfect but would like to see other female bot characters portrayed evenly.

 

Well, that's the thing.
If we want an easier distinction between the two paths of thinking (females think differently because of Solus), breasts should be appearent, but not obtrusive (really, the chest should just angle forwards more).

 

Cool design, I could go for that as a modern version.

 

Personally, I'd rather they not include more obese lokking cybertronians. There is a difference between being fat, and being large. Prime Bulkhead was the perfect example of this.

And I would disagree on the "it's a good thing".. it's an over the top humanizing thing that's just wrong. Humanoid shape is correct, but beer bellies, rounded boobs, etc. are completely pointless for a robot.

I'm fine with some feature being inspired by human features, such as the ER Arcee's chest being just a square elevated form that does reference to female anatomy but only as a basic overall shape design.

I am all good for diversified shaped, but there's absolutely not a single reason why robots should have features that are 100% human as such... As robots, the goal would be to be as functional as much as possible and human-like features as such would be detrimental to functions.

Heck, even the faces thing I can have some issues with, I can understand the parameters to having a face, but without the "stretching" features (they are made of metal or not?), but when people lose themselves and draw the faces are completely human with silver paint on it, I find it lazy. Done right, you don't need a character to twist their faces around like a human's to express their "emotions".

I'd rather have a robot that is low in humanoid feature than one that has too much. They are robots after all.

And it's something that I do plan to address in my comic.

Presumably WfC follows the toyline to some extent, so these first waves of toys would start on Cybertron.

So maybe Elita will use the Chromia mold as her Cybertronian body and then get an Earth form in Generations?

Leaves the question of what Bee may do. He shouldn't be a VW on Cybertron.
