I haven't built an actual RX-0 Unicorn model kit, so when people complain about "OH BOY ANOTHER UNICORN WAY TO MILK THAT COW BANDAI   " i'm indifferent, but I understand completely as to why people are upset.

 

Is the OVA version or the Ver Ka the way to go on MG Unicorn? I read that the OVA has the head Vulcans and maybe some other details. Is that true?

 

Yeah, the OVA version had a few minor improvements on the Ver. Ka. Head parts remolded for the vulcans, and the fins on the backs of the legs were remolded to allow for 90 degree knee bends, instead of the ~45 degrees on the original Ver. Ka.

 

I'd say to avoid the ver ka on the simple basis that it's about as poseable as a grandma with lumbago, not that the OVA version is much of an improvement. It retools a few key part of the ver ka to provide more range, but it's still relatively stiff.

 

The only way to get the Full Armor Loadout is with the Ver Ka. right?

 

voice trailer guy with his declarations of EXTREME got me rolling, but damn that new articulation, and actual arms for the shields to be funnels got me going whack. FAUC doesn't have that ability.

yes. i have it, it also has the new legs for the full 90 degrees rotation that mold allowed. This MGEX/Ver.Ka 2.0 allows for 160 degrees flexibility.

The fact that the MGEX can change frame colors actually makes me interested. When I look at a line of Unicorns, I always wanna get all of the psycho frame variations, which usually means 2 Unicorns, at least 2 Banshees, and a Phenex, so if I only would have to get one of each? That sounds great. Even so, I'll have to see reviews first.

 

Phenex goes green too, so that means you're gonna need a sixth MGEX.

 

This is what I get for not watching NT. Shocked we don’t have any green Phenex kits.

And the point I was trying to make is that I’d only need one of each MGEX Unicorn variant since the LEDs change color.

 

but then you want to display them in both corn and destroy modes, yes? some folks buy two of a transformer for vehicle and robot mode (RIP the Triple Changer buyers).

 

Nah, I don’t mind transforming them every so often. As someone who usually leans toward 1/144 and tried getting all the HG Unicorns with their Unicorn modes, it became way too much of a hassle.
