I read somewhere that if TR Blurr was remolded to get rid of the headmaster gimmick, he would make for a good WFC figure. Is this true?

 

Not really since he would lack articulation that is pretty standard on wfc figures. He’s good, but he’s still a prime wars figure

Very likely we're getting a new Blurr figure. Very unlikely he'll share anything with TR Blurr.

 

Studio Series doesn't have COMBAT ports and has a history of retooling older figures.

I'd be surprised if we get G1 figures in Studio Series and none are retools of older figures.

The big argument for Blurr and Galvatron in WFC instead of SS is their presence on box art for WFC. That said, we haven't gotten SS G1 figures before so we don't know if WFC box art would avoid using SS figures.

There's a reasonable argument that Bumblebee won't appear in Siege, Earthrise, or WFC3 packaging and the Walmart Netflix figure is a redeco of an unannounced SS figure or even RED Bumblebee in Netflix packaging and deco style.

 

Thanks for the reply, my apologies though I didn't clarify my query correctly, I was wondering where the confirmation that the 2-pack Ironhide is definitely a Deluxe came from?
I thought it was still a bit nebulous/unconfirmed as both sources for the listing were translated into English and may not be 100% contextually correct?

 

Ironhide couldn't be bigger than Voyager given the price.

I have this wild hunch that Ratchet will be packed with a bio bed that Dead Optimus will fit on.

They might start packing Ark accessories with some figures IMHO as an expansion of Centurion's accessory pack and a stab at third parties, which seems to be part of the agenda anymore IMHO.

 

Ah, I must've got the set prices mixed up and thought that it was at a price between prior double deluxe sets and the Earthmode 2-pack so it might be a mixed size class set but that would be unusual, Hasbro haven't actually done a mixed class box set since the Prime trilogy's have they? (Pack-in Battlemasters don't count IMHO, they're more additional accessories, yeah?)
That would be neat, and go hand in hand with a Titan class Ark/Autobot City playset if that's what WFC:III goes for!
Maybe Ratchet could be a similar affair to Siege/ER Astrotrain and the Selects Centurion drone, in that maybe it's gear that takes him from tall Deluxe to Leader? Maybe even some extra weapons that can be split between him and Ironhide (IIRC the 2-pack only suggests 1 gun apiece)? Or extra repair tools that can be shared with Hoist and Wheeljack?

No there's not, Bugbite is going to be a WFC Selects figure, and Netflix Bumblebee is a WFC Trilogy figure, common sense says that Bumblebee is in the unknown deluxe wave 4 of Earthrise. Assuming that Bumblebee is going to be a Studio Series or a non transforming RED figure is a massive leap in logic

 

I’ve got Cyberverse Deluxe Bumblebee as part of my chug collection and I don’t really mind the absence of ports. I also don’t use them at all, except for when I need to place them somewhere for space

 

That's beside the point though, you asked if TR Blurr would make for a good WFC figure, and ankle tilts and C.O.M.B.A.T. ports are both pretty standard on most WFC figures, with the exception of Greenlight, Lancer and Arcee, 2 of which are leftovers from POTP

 

So I guess a new mold would indeed be needed then

 

Oh wait, it just hit me! Ironhide and Prowl are in a 2-pack, right? In a reference to the '86 Movie's shuttle scene? So Ratchet is in a 2-pack with Brawn. That accounts for his higher price.

 

So that means I wouldn’t have to get the TR version? I hope there’s an Outback in the future

 

Here's hoping Prowl comes with an FX piece which can be attached to his face which makes it look like flames and smoke are coming out of his eyes and mouth
