Heck yeah dude! That's around the time I started visiting these boards more often so I knew what codes to look for. I remember going on a shopping trip with my mom to Walmart and digging through all the Crankcases they had in stock to find the right code. Walmart was also running a DOTM themed 5 dollar off coupon at the time and I used it at the register and felt like I was getting such a bargain.

It seems like my experience with DOTM is very similar to a lot of people here where it marks the beginning of being a more "serious" collector and getting more involved with the fandom by joining this website. It's cool that we can all share in these experiences :)

Bee just got out of surgery and he’s looking better than ever! I found a new way to mod the door wings (courtesy of Jakeejung on Instagram) that makes him look sooo good. Still fully transformable. It allows the wheels to swing fully back AND has the added benefit of allowing the doors to be positioned closer to the middle of the back AND his shoulders have much more free range of movement! I’m very happy! This figure was awesome straight out of the box but with the door wing mods and the extra paint I added he’s really top-tier.

Does anyone recall some sort of assembly error with 2007 leader Optimus? Someone mentioned it in another thread, but I can't find any info on it.

Watching Revenge of the Fallen in 4K kind of got me feeling nostalgic and I decided to take some photos of SS-44 with the normal abdomen piece and these are the two photos that turned out best.

Not only am I feeling nostalgic, but I’m also feeling a little sentimental, I guess. Flaws and all, the Bayformer films are my G1. This Optimus Prime is my Optimus Prime. He’s a war weary and tired veteran who is sometimes violent, but goddamn I love this version of Prime. I’m glad I grew up with the Bay films. I enjoy the stories (I use that term somewhat loosely), the designs are top notch, and the sound design is absolute music (Megatron’s fusion cannon SFX is orgasmic). While I could do without the crude humor (like “Sam’s happy time”, Wheelie humping Mikaela's leg, Devastator’s wrecking balls, “Deep Wang”), the Witwicky trilogy will forever be my favorite part of the Transformers brand. I certainly hope it’s not forgotten anytime soon.

This exactly. Flaws and all I loved the trilogy. That was my childhood, and I’m glad I grew up with it.

Wow amazing job! Your painting skills are really good. The custom looks terrific!

You said it all perfectly. Bayverse is my G1 too. I love the films and my love for them will never die out.

While cleaning a place to set up my new 3D printer, I found an Insecticon I dyed black probably about two years ago.
I may go back and add color if the motivation strikes. If not, well, he at least looks good in black.

Thank you! It was tough actually, although it was simple. Here is a link to the post I got the idea from. It's just two cuts. The first downward long cut is really easy and took 10 seconds, but the second sideways cut is REALLY tight and hard to do. I almost broke the wheels off while doing it. Overall very satisfied with the results though. I tested it out on my other SS49 before I proceeded to my main guy (the one in the pic).
Damn that looks awesome. I still want that figure someday. Have you considered adding some red for the eyes and maybe some gold bits? Would look cool and wouldn't take more than a few minutes I'd imagine. What do you mean by "dyed", BTW?

    Thanks!
The intention was to add gold and purple detailing, as well as either red or yellow eyes.
Just never got back to it, and I have a LOT on my bench to paint right now, so it my get added to the queue.
As for the dying, I used some old RIT black dye instead of paint.

rit dye. as long as all of the parts are made of the same plastic, there will be an even color change. I've tried it on JLU figures like 15 years ago and because the arms and legs are made of a different plastic than the torsos, they look uneven. Its a good way to customize if you are new and don't know how to take apart a TF figure (like me, i have no clue how to take apart a figure) and if you want the entire figure to be a different color

Easy but tough. Thanks for the link.I don't know if I have a blade small and thin enough to cut that like that, but wish they came like that originally. The original deluxe from 07 is the only one outside MPM that has his doors folded in more towards his back where they belong. Makes him less boxy and more athletic.
