Too bad Takara is not allowed to do their old awesome paint upgrades anymore. :(

Hey what up? New guy here, this is actually my first post..lol.

Had to order them on Ebay and pay the resell price which sucks but for $100 shipped with the convenience and peace of mind knowing I got them, I'm not complaining. I live in New Jersey, it's hard finding figures sometimes out here so I wasn't playing with this release.

I tried to hit up the 3 local Targets around my area but came up on nothing. Knowing this is a Target exclusive, I knew this was gonna be a pain to find in the wild. I knew the work I put into finding 2 of the Target exclusive Marvel Legends "Red Hulk" that release a couple of months ago. I wasn't going to go through that again, especially considering what's going on in the world currently. I can't hunt for figs like I used to and that Target "Instock Notification" sucks. I either miss it or when I do get it and try to check out, I keep getting a "sold out" message. Not this time buddy!!! Lol....Starscream will have his buddy's paired up with him on Friday... I can't wait!!

EXACTLY!!! Everything mentioned, including the Halitosis and underarm aroma lol. Too many times I've went hunting to only come up empty handed, your time and gas spent has to be put into consideration and being we're in the middle of a global pandemic, toy hunting is just not on my to do list. I also factored in the resell price on the original Skywarp release. This 2 pack is way better imo and resell price is cheaper. I said let me get it now before it eventually goes up in price.

I've also read on here that Target was getting like 3 per shipment which isn't much. It reminds me of when I was hunting that Red Hulk Target exclusive, it was the same situation. You'll get in stock notifications and then they'll be sold out online in less than a minute. Stores were literally getting 1-3 figures per shipment. After calling one of the stores up, I got tipped off by an employee that seen the shipment manifesto. So I had to go to that particular Target like 30 mins before it opened on the day it was getting that shipment and then go bother the stockboy who had no clue what I was talking about. We both searched through the new boxes of shipment and couldn't find it. I happened to find it in a separate box filled with a bunch miscellaneous toys. The only copy that came in their entire shipment..SMH. So I doubt Target is getting cases of these Seekers, looks like they're releasing them the same way.

I think it's time for me to look into a shipping forwarder.

So tired of having to keep resubscribing to Target's notifications that're sold out before they're sent.

You would think Japan would be one of the first regions to get TF releases, but nope, they're like last.

Would you believe that TF isn't that popular in Japan? China yes! Japan? Not that high on the want totem pole.

That's pretty surprising actually, considering just how much extra media they produced and got when compared to the west.

Seriously, there's no way I'm paying 100+ dollars for 2 identical Voyagers (mold wise). Ebay scalpers can go to the pits.

Yeah...from a foreigner looking at Japan...it seems like in terms of mecha, Gundam and Mazinger Z seem to be the pinnacle while Voltes V taps on the window occasionally to remind everyone he was once the schnizzle. Everyone else is chump change.

Unless you're Convoy. Japan loves themselves some Convoy. Takara would be wise to just shut the Transformers line down there and just make Convoys, all day and all night. Convoy, Convoy, Convoy.

Of course TF does well in Japan, they have so many exclusives and cartoons for that region. It's profitable but it's definitely not mega popular like it is on other countries

Voltes V is still popular in south east asia at least, like Grendizer still is in the Middle East and Italy. also omg the second part of your post is so true lol

It's easy to forget that while Japan certainly put a lot of work and thought into their portion of the franchise, Transformers at it's heart and soul is a very American property. It's common knowledge that many of the toys that we know as G1 came from Japanese mecha toylines. Diaclone, Microchange, and even stuff from Special Armored Battalion Dorvak just to name some. These toys were already in circulation before they were picked up by Hasbro and rebranded into the Transformers characters we know today. Which leads me to this...

Ultimately, while Transformers certainly got more development earlier on in Japan, it's still not as popular as homegrown Mecha properties, a genre which has been running since the series that christened it, Tetsujin-28. Stuff like Gundam, and super robot have a lot more appeal to fans in Japan than Transformers.
