I can’t seem to add stuff to the cart on their site

 

Maketoys store has been closed since November of last year. Maketoys even posted as such on their Facebook page.

 

Maketoys has turned into the bizarro world Fanstoys by releasing 1 figure a year.

 

I wonder what they’re up to

Debating pulling the trigger on endgame, already have meteor. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on the quality of endgame. Is there really that much of a difference between the two quality wise?

 

My Endgame is pretty close quality-wise to Meteor, that is to say better than skycrow and lightning. Looks a lot better than the TT Dirge.

 

If MT reissues skycrow and lightning I’m in for them all.

I really don’t want to give my money to takara, that window for MT is closing soon.

 

I'm getting a little bit desperate for something from MT to show there are looking at something post the Downbeat premium version. I get there's a legit niggle with that release but it feels like that niggle has frozen everything else too. I want my other two Coneheads! Plus, with TT announcing Starscream v3, MT have a small window to capitalise before folks bail to where they know they can get a full set (albeit in about 2026). They should throw the kitchen sink at these guys and also announce reissues of all except Meteor (lest TT bristle at that) for 2021. Get the buyers you can whilst you can

 

At this point paying 2nd hand prices for the MT seekers will be about the same as what you'll pay for Takara's new MP seeker. I'd wait on it and see if MT reissues theirs (they are apparently still working on their projects so this wouldn't surprise me). I have no qualms whatsoever going with MT. Takara doesn't deserve my money other than their Beast Wars MPs and I'm prolly gonna start going the KO route on that front. Didn't wanna start supporting KOs but might as well these days for the lower price and near to same quality.

 

I've already given up on these. Endgame wasn't toon enough for me which is odd considering the Starscream/Skywarp/Thundercracker versions were hyper toon accurate. I also still have doubts that the last two will ever see the light of day anyway.

 

I have Meteor and Endgame. Both are in bot mode and look much better than the TT. Quality-wise I am very satisfied with both.

 

My Endgame was fine save for the loose hip skirt and head, but those issues were easily resolved with a little floor polish... Other than that he's great. I, too, hope that they finish the set. Would be a real shame to only have the one. Such an easy win for them as well as the mould is pretty much done.

 

With Takara announcing a new seeker mold, I feel like the window closed on MT. I doubt we'll see Ramjet and Thrust unless a KO company gets them. There's been a short supply for a long time now of Skycrow and Lighting. Seeker molds are basically like printing money, yet MT hasn't pumped any out. That speaks volumes in my book as to how bad of shape MT actually is in.

Sucks for those of us that wanted all 6. I actually only have Meteor and have zero desire for another Takara product.

 

I think it will depend on the price with TT. If their seekers are $300 or something in that vain then I believe Maketoys can still sell theirs at less than half the price. I'm not interested in spending on another set of TT seekers unless they are reasonably priced.

 

You mean MT can re-issue them with more paint, wing fillers, and a mystery sticker and charge $199

 

Make it $150 and it's a deal.

Takara is really shooting themselves in the foot with their own pricing schemes.

 

This time next year 3rd party prices will be close to Takara if these prices increases keep up. Legends 3rd prices isn't helping.

 

The good news is we are keeping up.
