Sorry to hear that they're having to wrap up. I might have to check out Academy. I went through the original Rescue Bots as a "well why not?" when it hit Netflix and it became one of my favorite TF series so who knows? ^_^

At first I didn’t like RB or RBA very much. It took a while for RB to grow on me, but it did hook me & I ended up enjoying it quite a bit.

Same thing with RBA. At first it felt very rushed & inferior to RB. Didn’t like that the runtime was cut down to 11 minutes. Several episodes later, I was into it & it remains a fun little show to this day.

It’s a shame that Aligned is finally ending, but it’s cool that it lasted this long. It’s been a lot of fun watching it with my kids.

I really enjoyed season 1 but for some reason season 2 just hasnt been as much fun.

Was nice to see Snarl and Sludge back on TV and I hope this version of Whirl shows up in another show soon.

I have to agree to be honest with you, especially that hideous Optimus Prime design

As much as I didn't care much for Rescue Bots Academy and only played both of the Cybertron games and only watched Transformers Prime and Transformers Robots In Disguise 2015 from beginning to end, I have to say that it's been a wild ride and an honour watching some of the stuff that this continuity had to offer. And out of all the continuities that we've seen over the years, I will say this that the Aligned is my favourite. Mainly because that it's the first continuity that I actually paid attention too and actually cared for what was happening in some of the things that I was watching. Farewell Aligned Continuity, there's been some ups and some downs along the road but it was all worth it at the end of the day and to quote Woody from Toy Story 3: "So long partner".

The G1 continuity went on for precisely 16 years from 1984 to 2000

Never watched RB or RBA. Actually, I don't think I've watched a single TF show in full since... Animated?

For those mourning the Aligned continuity, don’t worry. Hasbro made a second attempt at enforcing their Aligned continuity lore with TLK when the writers room asked Hasbro for help with the franchise lore, so they basically shoved them the Binder of Revelation insisting that was the only backstory of the franchise (and the hollywood writers wouldn’t know any different).

When TLK failed, they eventually succeeded starting in 2018. IDW 1 ended, the Bay films were rebooted with a G1 friendly aesthetic and premise, and evergreen became the mandate. Now everything, from Siege to IDW 2 to Cyberverse, is all under Hasbro’s brand unification. So it took them a decade and two tries, but Hasbro finally got their Aligned continuity. Whoopee.

I'm a be real for a bit here....I played the Cybertron games, watched Prime. I prefer one over the other....the games were just much more fun. Prime got complex...well how things worked together. But that is saved for another time (cause I have issues with Prime) but seeing how Hasbro is trying to do a unified look...will that mean that the evergreen designs will get a Generations redux? Cause if so those designs deserve proper toys then the Walgreens stuff (some of it is good in fairness)

I guess the show had poor rating and poor toy sales.

I'm afraid to tell you that my cousins and some relatives who in 1984 were 25-30s told me G1 wasn't aimed for toddlers or kids under 10 yrs old.therefore, we can't say G1 was designer for kids or at least some folks who're 50-60s mentioned

Hahahahaha good one ,you made me the day

...rescue bots was top-shelf all-ages entertainment; arguably the best series the franchise has ever produced...i was disappointed to see it shelved in favor of the transition to RBA at boulder media as a cost-cutting measure, but franchises evolve and it enjoyed an outstanding run while it lasted...

...i was even more disappointed to see it pulled from streaming services, but hopefully hasbro will rectify that now that they're not pushing RBA in its place any longer...

Yeah, um, I'm a bit late, but I just checked the posting history of the dude you replied to, and..... he unironically thinks Hasbro/Takara should scrap all of their Transformers product lines other than Generations, Studio Series, and Masterpiece.

    That's about what I'd expect.

No, they got to 100 episodes. Which is a syndication milestone.

I originally thought they'd do that when saw stuff like RB Blurr crossover in to the RiD toyline, but the more I think about it the less I think that'll be the case.

RB, and RBA was all about an emphesis on non-violent problem solving. I don't think, going forward, Hasbro would want those versions of the characters showing up in Generations with lasers and missile launchers. Even when they did their brief run of animal toys that turned in to weapons...the guys who were "guns" had attachments that resembled streams of water and netting, and the ones that were melee weapons were arguably also rescue tools (a fireman's axe, a mining drill, etc)

Paw Patrol is the same way. They don't "fight" even when they're super heroes. They use their abilities to solve problems and resolve conflict without beating up bad guys. The toys that do have "blasters" are all tied to the police dog (who launches tennis balls or nets) and the fire dog (who's projectiles are translucent blue to look like water spray).

So I think the odds are very very low of the RBA characters specifically showing up in Generations unless they're given accessories that would still fit within the "rescue" theme rather than combat. And even then it's more likely Hasbro would mix them in with whatever media comes next to replace Rescue Bots that continues to be aimed at the Paw Patrol/PJ Mask audience.

What's more likely is you'll see variations on the characters who already exist in the Generations universe that may be close to their RB/RBA designs. Grimlock, Bee, Prime, etc.

Same. My primary gripe with Rescue Bots Academy, and the original Rescue Bots series (Besides its younger age target audience) was there being no Decepticons featured at all in either series.

Yeah, I can see that. Though if it matters, even shows like PJ Masks and Paw Patrol that have "villains" like that rarely sell toys of them (and if they do its greatly outnumbered by the hero characters). I think there's something to what people say about villains selling poorly (at least with stuff aimed at younger kids).

But it would have been interesting to see Rescue Bots keep the rescue theme while still incorporating some bad guys. Just make them more bumbling than evil so the threats aren't much more than having to clean up after them.
