Yeah, it's such an unfortunate blind spot. There'd definitely be a market for those, but I guess the molds don't go through the usual channels.

Me too. though there are enough tank-based figures at this point that it probably wouldn't be too hard to do a custom (basically just paint something white).

Feels like kind of a missed opportunity that Hasbro didn't repaint and remold Brunt to make him into a decent Slammer.

Dont take me wrong, what I consider flaws aside, its a very good figure. Heck it was enough to bring me back to collecting a mainline outside masterpiece, since the 90s....I just am looking for ways to maybe improve the damn thing

Centurion Drones from IDW.

 

Since I'm only getting one Centurion Drone, I'll probably headcanon it as a Centurion that was rebuilt/reprogrammed/given a spark as Slammer to work with Metroplex

 

Rather tiny, relatively expensive, and only available as part of a set with other figures. Otherwise not bad.

I was actually specifically thinking of that thing when I mentioned it. With some dedicated remolding and a WHITE deco, that would have made a great Slammer. Instead they didn't change the mold, and it's just... well... silver Brunt. Or a Centurion droid, which Brunt's robot mode was already referencing, so whatev.

Slammer is pretty simple, but that long, SPG profile is sort of distinctive, so it would be good to find a figure whose alt-mode sort of matches. Maybe Impactor? And of course, something you can get a "tower" mode out of too.

It might have been said and I missed it,

But does anyone else feel that 3p/kos have a huge missed opportunity with micromasters/weaponisers?

It seems its a nice market that remains on official hands (not that I have anything against it) and they could have easily tapped it, with repaints, or even new designs.

 

Of course I speak for myself when I say I'm completely ambivalent to the Weaponizers / Micromasters. I don't buy them or especially care for them (the cassettes get a pass, anyway).

But also it seems like the Chinese market seems to really go in for BIG toys, and oversized versions of everything. Sure, there are cheap small toys too, but I'm wondering if the Micromaster stuff would actually make as much of a splash considering so much of the market is oriented towards larger items.

I really want to see the Esrthrise modulator micro master bases oversized. There’s a real opportunity there to sell some big bots and help us collectors expand out Autobot (and Decepticon) cities.

This is one occasion where I think the tendency of KO companies to overdo it when upsizing a figure would work out for me. And if they can retain some compatibility between the ramp connectors that would be even better.

I've printed a few pieces out from that but not the whole thing yet. It seems like it's going to work out OK. I'm going to resume when I change back to white or black filament soon.

 

One way or the other my Slammer problem is going to end soonish.

Now what to do for Scamper ? I mean I dont own the original Plex and ebay prices for the small dude are huge (if any surface at all).

 

Wow, that's nuts. That's straight up Iron Factory Manacle. They also have the Iron Factory Blaster for download too. A printer filament company offering what have to be unauthorized downloads of 3P figures... bizarre. I might try printing that Blaster! lol

I notice a while back those free figures are same as Iron Factory Turrents and Manacle. I wonder who copied who?

Personally I think I"ll use the new Selects Centurian as my Slammer, with this 3d printed head.

 

Where were you able to get an oversized Power of the Primes Slash? I can't find them in her original colors anywhere on eBay.

 

Without going through an Aliexpress or TaoBao retailer SirToys is the only China-based exporter to handle her AFAIK. I went to Paul to nab mine.
