I\'m surprised, thought such a show would last 4 seasons.

    1) Just because this ended doesn't mean there will be another.
    2) There are now over 200 episodes of the two Rescue Bots series. Given the targeted age they could recycle those episodes for a long time.

Eh. It was going to end sooner or later.
A botbots show could be fun.

I'd say option 2. Rescue Bots was BY FAR the most successful part of the Aligned continuity, and one of the most successful things in Transformers in the last 10 years.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the next TF Show aimed towards kids is a BotBots show...

Those crazy suns of guns did it. When they set out to start the Aligned continuity, they said they wanted it to last 10 years. As the last piece of media still going in that continuity (even though it was basically grandfathered in, being a direct sequel to the most successful piece of Aligned media, which I don't think was even supposed to last as long as it did), and it ending in 2020, it's just very.... Fulfilling? I've loved every bit of the aligned continuity from the Prime cartoon to the novels and the video games, and RBA is a fun show, so I'm glad the whole continuity is ending on somewhat of a high. It lasting as long as it was originally envisioned is really cool to me.

This show had some cute ideas and designs, namely Whirl and Hot Shot. It’s crazy that this will be the end of Aligned after the past decade of it. If nothing else, RBA was the only non-evergreen/G1 stuff we have right now and the last thing conceptualized before the brand was unified into evergreen/G1. So there’s some sadness to the show’s passing. Let’s hope we can eventually get a good show that isn’t G1 again. Some day.

If they do another Rescue Bots show, which I do hope they do, it would probably do them better to write the show more akin to the first series. Have it targeted/marketed at younger kids but write the show as a piece of family media. Something that anyone (Older Sibling, Parent, Grand Parent) can watch with the intended audience and still enjoy. Whoever was the show runner or president or whatever for Discovery Family really hit the nail on the head when they wanted all the networks shows to be written like that.

Yup. That show will likely go into repeats for years. The question will be if they find a way to keep a toyline running with those characters.

Because Heatwave, Blades, Hot Shot, Medix, etc sre pretty locked in with super young kids.

That would work well. Huge variety of characters and settings means tons of episodic content.

Did anyone actually watch the show?
Honestly I didn't even know it had gone past 30 episodes. This has to be the Transformers show with the most episodes.
Honestly I feel like the only people who stick to age recommendations on tv are suburban housewives and their kids. Most people outside of that could care less. I've seen 5 year olds eat up shows for older kids and teens. 2020 is very different than 1984, but not for that reason.

They do still own Boulder Media, but after last year's failed attempt (in May) at expanding into a major animation studio in Ireland to produce cinema movies, Hasbro decided to buy an existing animation studio (Entertainment One) in August last year, completing the deal in December.
And even while they own both companies, they still have to move money around from the parent company of Hasbro to the companies they own, to pay for the staff and projects... and if they have two companies doing the same thing, why keep one of them. A merging of duplicate assets would be expected, but with Boulder being in Ireland and unable to expand, a shut down or sell-off in the near future is more likely.

It was even mentioned in this February TFW news posting from Toyfair, that E1 is taking over all future Transformers cartoons, which meant, Boulder was no longer producing anymore beyond what they had completed... which was pretty obvious at the time that Cyberverse and Rescue Bots Academy were most likely ending, as the new media company would have it's own style and creative processes to make sure that they can be creatively distinguished from the previous company.

I loved Rescue Bots; I was going to watch the first few episodes just so I got a feel for what the show was about and let little kids enjoy it, but I ended up enjoying them and giving it a few more episodes, then a few more, then laughing and enjoying the character development, and before I knew it, I was a fan of it and still think it's one of the best incarnations of the franchise. However, I tried pretty hard but just couldn't get into Rescue Bots Academy.

I'm glad some people enjoyed RBA, but it just wasn't for me.

Between the original and RBA it lasted like 7 years. That's pretty good.

Damn, this is a shame. My 3 year old loves this, especially Hot Shot. Thank god for re-runs
