That wouldnt mesh well with the bots I already have. If they re-release the original set at a discounted price, I'd replace my Fansproject Menasor.

Though this version is attractive, they would’ve gotten me with a box set of the original bots with improved engineering. Would’ve looked great next to the GT Devy and Warbotron Bruticus.

I was ready to jump into the initial releases but the combined mode made me rethink it.

Since TFM and GT are the same company and GT just released their Blinged out Gravity Builder... this is not a surprise. I have a feeling it'll look better in person.

 

figures...i finally tracked them all down (some are not so easy to get!) and either have these figures or they are on the way to me by slow boat (and although i didn't pay retail on most of them the shipping of powetrain and disorder from overseas its almost as bad as if i had) and this set is shown. i guess i do liek the original colors better at least in bot andy especiall alt mode but the shiny menasor does look great. if i can get this set cheap, i'll have one set for team and one set for combined i guess. bbts had the new GT gravity builder chrome edition for a steal and i'm hoping this one will be that price or cheaper...based on the china retial of roughly $200usd or less....i hope that is teh case! i hope they reissue GT J4ZZ in pure white metallic (vs pearl) so long as GT is diong redecos priced well.

 

My dude. Go for the original set. They don’t need improved engineering. Their engineering is just fine.

And he does indeed look awesome next to the combiners you mentioned.

also someone mentioned the "MJ lean". didnt they fix that with some extra parts included with the last release? or did i imagine that?

 

This is actually pretty interesting; skip to 41:04 for those interested (she poses the Havoc set in both combined mode and individual mode before this timestamp, but at around the 41 minute mark she places it on the table and moves it around a couple times). I don't see any noticeable forward lean; I know emgo said in his video that the upgrade parts fixed it for him, but other reviewers such as Bobby Skullface didn't have the same luck even with the upgrades to the shin pieces. This new version seems a lot more stable. I actually don't like the aesthetics that much (works better on their Gravity Builder reissue since the actual green of the bots weren't chromed out) but if this has improved stability, it might be worth it.

Check out the 45 minute mark too where she intentionally tries to make it wobble and it's still firmly planted on the ground. That's impressive and even emgo's video couldn't do that.

My Taiwanese wife helpfully translated some of that part for me   A viewer asked about stability and she just said, "look I can make it move around, the stability isn't bad now right? Much better."

 

Bobby has many great things to say, but he just doesn't have any talent at manipulating toys... He is too clumsy. People shouldn't use his reviews as a yardstick to measure anything other than how much manhandling a toy can endure  

 

Now that they are back on track, let's pray that they release a black and purple version like they did with the Black Judge!

Reminds me of the metal cars I used to buy at Kroger when I was a kid. They look so real tho, and I love it! maybe a metal version eventually idk. I’m good with my PE CW menasor rn but i like this set
