That's a shame about the blue and black bee. Those colors look really nice on him. I really want to see their version of Brawl if they ever get to it this decade.

 

As far as I know, the Blue and Black Bee were sold in an event in Shanghai, like special items. Their price were nearly three times as much as the regular Bee price. Not sure if they will re-release them.

Purple is a good choice. Only Gray and Purple versions come with Starscream part.
Their website still list the Blue Bee, you can contact them if still like it, it's a bit pricey for that size, though:

My God, “tone deaf”. Only idiots would be getting offended over something as simple as that, especially when it’s not propaganda supporting anything.  

 

I'd agree if this was just a regular reskin like the others, but look how far they went with this one. He's got;

1. A head design that resembles a SS officers hat.

2. The bloody German iron cross on the car door.

3. Back in the original promos there was a skull decal on his shoulder, there was a SS division that had a skull as an icon.

Had this been a Decepticon, it would still be iffy, but not as bad as painting a kid appeal character to look like a Nazi. Even still, their HK Bee is just as bad, considering the riots going on and the leaps and bounds to make him look like a riot officer.

 

I agree that making a nazi bumblebee is a weird idea but I feel like him being a kid appeal character doesn't matter much since 3rd party figures are targeted to adult collectors.

Quite possibly not. It’s a different culture and the west may not be their key market. Hard to say.

But I was really hoping this thread popping up again would be because they’d finally made some progress in something new.

Starscream being a baf was always dumb, but at the rate they’re going it will be a minimum of 5 years (or just never even completed). I was really excited about their ww2 hot rod, but I have to wonder if it will even happen.

These guys are killing me.

 

Understandable, though I wager taking into account 3rd party fans that may have kids who are BB fans and find these oddly evil colored versions should the parents bought them at a point.

 

Guess I'm an idiot then since I don't like my transforming robot toys to be associated with the actual people who tried to exterminate my ancestors IRL.

 

My Jewish ancestors were sent to Auschwitz. Getting offended by Nazi Bumblebee is incredibly trivial and pointless. I personally find the figure amusing and would probably buy it to be 100% honest. I say it is better to let people enjoy the absurdity and humor in the design than to pretend that it represents anything meaningful.

 

I'm not super duper offended, I just don't really like it and don't see the point. Plus as others have said it doesn't even fit the character. It seems like someone just "liked" the nazi look and decided to throw it in there, so it makes no sense AND is sort of in poor taste. It just doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.

 

Your theory on the origins of this figure justifies why Nazi Bumblebee shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Someone thought, "we have this WWII Bumblebee design, let's make a Nazi Germany variant." It's one of those "here's an alternate universe where Bumblebee allied with the Germans during WWII." It's like Communist Superman. It's not tasteful, but I really don't care whether oddities such as Nazi Bumblebee exist. If people want the figure, then let them buy it. As long as Toyworld doesn't make the figure mandatory to purchase just to get another part of WWI Starscream, I see no harm whatsoever in the figure existing to buy.

 

If actual nazis weren't crawling out of their hidey-holes more often these days I might agree with you. Hence why some of us are calling it "tone deaf". But just because I don't like a figure doesn't mean it doesn't have a right to exist, it just means I will shake my head and move on with my life. It's already apparently been canceled anyways so I guess someone else had the same thought.

 

I'm not sure where you are finding these increasing number of "actual Nazis," but I'll save the political discussions for another time and another place.

 

Dang, those look awesome! The all blue one actually kinda reminds me of Universal Studios Evac. Could get that one and repurpose it as a WWI/WWII Evac.
