Ah yeah, just CTRL+F'd Moebine and I see it there in the candy toys. It's such a different and unique set - As i've said before, I don't really like the creepy anime girl figures it comes with, but their armor modes are neat and they're not as cheesecake as a lot of anime figures out there, so I'm glad I got two. I put my second set together during quarantine (well, the robots. I'm just gonna leave the girls in the boxes), and it's super cool how you get a really good, articulated gestalt out of some unique animal modes, and it's got a whole arsenal of optional weapons to boot. I think another one popped up on Mandarake recently (I haven't deleted the alert I have for it), so hopefully another collector for their hands on it!

As for the Furyuukibines, I've always seen the dragons referred to as RyuFire, RyuStorm, and RyuBone, so it's good to know there's another name out there that people can hunt for. Good set! Guardian is cool in the first place, but I almost like the smaller Ryustorm characters more.

I am continuing to plug away at the wiki, using the google doc as a reference. For some of the rarer items, I'm harvesting old auctions and just general google image searches, but doing my best to contact everybody I can link the pictures back to to try and get their approval.

One thing I'm not seeing a ton of pictures for, and I think would be useful, are scans of the instruction manuals, stickers, pack in cards, etc. I don't know what later series had, but I got my hands on a misb Gattai figure and was astounded by how much stuff came with them that I'd never seen. The instruction manuals would be especially handy, but they're so big I'm not sure how to accurately capture them without doing scanners, but I'm looking into it.

Yeah, I have a few that came with everything but most of mine were used. Sorry I've been slacking. I got pics of all the A-z guys but it crunched a bunch of them down on my phone for some reason. That and there were riots in my town for a bit so I kinda lost track of stuff. XD

I can give any instructions for any candy toys tho. I definitely have those.

I can give you a digital copy of the book "Machine Robo Wedge." It has a lot of very great photos of some of the rarer items.

My wife bought me a mugenbine lot from ebay as a father's day present, and I don't want to be ungrateful, but it confirmed my long-standing theory that I do not like the candy toys very much. I got Mugen Emperor, Mugen Ryuuou, and Mugen Safari, along with a couple pieces of the Golden God set. I liked the first couple of sets well enough, but I still felt like they were unsatisfying compared to the Gattai. They lacked PLEX's signature... click... it just didn't feel right.

I did not like anything at all about Safari. They don't feel like partsformers puzzles to put together, they felt more like... bionicle or knex. And i do not want in any way to yuck anybody else's yums, but those were never "my bag". Maybe he has a cool combined mode, but it's pretty likely I'll be selling him off to someone who want-wants him.

On an unrelated-but-horrible note, do Mugen figures suffer from GPS like Transformers do? Two of the gold plastic connectors on the Golden God-reissue turtle shattered, and I was being pretty careful.

Maybe I'll dabble in Mugen Heroes next. I don't like the card mechanic, but the figures themselves appear to be pretty well engineered otherwise.

Man, if you don't like the candy toys, Heroes probably won't do it for ya. I guess if you're using them as parts to supplement old Gatta stuff?

dunno about GPS. I would guess it's probably something that happened in the time period, but the candy toys started after most of the GPS stuff with TF's stopped, didn't they?

Also, I get what you're saying about the candy toys. It's especially bad if you get one with bum decals. I've found they're a lot more fun new than used, but I also like Gunpla so snipping sprues and putting on decals and following model instructions is my jam. I never really had bionicle, so I can't compare, so I definitely have a more 'rebuildable gundam' mindset towards them, especially something like Moebine where it's pretty gundam-y to begin with. Evolbine is a bit of a different beast too, with the focus being changing modes ala original gattai stuff (though in the case of evolbine it's egg-baby animal-animal or egg - animal - weapon). They're almost two different things to me; Gattai is big, chunky, and easy to do, and the candy toys are models that you can tear down.

(I still haven't found the safari directions yet. My bad!)

Still, Heroes is.... agh, I dunno. I feel it gets a bad rap, but like... the torso card gimmick is SO dumb and SO cumbersome. At least you can usually find it for super duper cheap.

I think I'm weird, because I don't normally have a problem with "used" robots, I actually kind of prefer them. I'd rather take a gently loved robot and give it a forever home than open an unboxed robot, mainly because there's a finite number of boxed robots, and every one I (who don't care) opens means that there's one fewer out there for a MISB collector who does care.

Also, for a long time my hobby was repairing/reassembling/cleaning/restoring megazords and diecast robots from the 70s/80s. I'm hoping as things wake back up in the country to add Mugenbine to my repertoire. That's part of the reason why I'm trying to... catalog them? Because I love the "hunt", but it helps to know what exactly I'm hunting. I can spot a Dai Goggle Jet at 40 paces and can combine three trashed G1 Soundwaves into one pristine one blindfolded, but I knew NOTHING about the Mugenbine stuff until asleep-me bought one in... March?

I don't have any regrets, because I'd wanted to get at least a "feel" for the Candy Toys, and inadvertently I got a sample of old and new with this set. And I do really like the two older designs, even if they feel a bit light compared to the Gattai experience. The candy toys I got didn't have any stickers at all, but on the ones I'm planning on keeping for sure (Emperor and Ryuuou) I'm using Gundam Markers to try and "fill in the gaps" on some of the pieces that are just bare plastic and emulate the sticker effect. And no rush on Safari, I found enough reference pictures that I was able to reassemble the six+ostrich sets, I just can't sort out the gestalt mode, there's too many fiddly bits

I dunno though, this feels really GPS to me. Gonna try to glue them back together once I find my magnifying-glass-and-clamps helper holder thingy

Yeah that looks pretty GPS.... I don't have Golden God so I never really had to deal with that. Sorry man, that sucks. ><

The restoration stuff is super cool! I get what you mean with gentle used stuff. Nearly ALL of my gattai didn't come with boxes (and most of the ones that did were used-in-box). It got weird. The Speed Eagle I ended up getting came in-box, but it was a box that had clearly gotten wet because it was FILLED WITH MOLD on the inside (the figure was still in plastic bags though, so it escaped unscathed!)
The candy toy ones are different though... I got my Ryubone and Ryustorm used, and it was a different experience since the assembly was no longer required. It's also tough lumping all the candy toy stuff under one banner.... the earliest light stuff (like golden god) feels different from Pharaoh and Arthur, who feel different from Ashura, Guardian, Satan, Safari, and their respective dragons, who feel different from Sea Beasts, which are totally their own thing. Evolbine feels more puzzly, Moebine is more of building an action figure than a model, and G-Gentoshi is an even more pared-down gashapon-style. Honestly, you might like Machine Robo Next. I dunno if it counts as Mugenbine, but the designs are a bit more approachable and less puzzly, and they have a more modular approach like old Mugenbine. Vortex Pirates is especially great, IMO, but Police and Gravity Builder are a ton of fun as well. TBH, I think the stuff that eventually got turned into Mugenbine Saga are some of the weakest when it comes to play (because it seems like the goal is to display them in gestalt mode).

I took apart Emperor and Ryuuou and used the instructions for Gold and Silver to "build" unofficial versions those, and I have to say that Silver is 100% my favorite of all the combined modes. All the other combiners feel like they've got a problem dealing with all the extra kibble, and for some ungodly reason they seem to decide the feet are the place where they're going to stick all the odds and ends. Silver's combined mode is the only one that feels clean and intentional. I'm going to take "Gold" apart and see if I can come up with a more elegant formation.

UPDATE: So after looking at the design intentionality of the combined mode, then at what made up almost all the kibble, I decided to take the tiger out of the equation entirely. The downside is that now, as a 4x combiner, the Golden God mode is a little bit smaller, but he's no longer burdened with that horrible parts-staff or those wacky claw feet. I put the red dragon back legs on as unconventional-but-very-useful feet, they're long and flat and give a ton of stability, and then that let me dismantle the weapon and redistribute those parts to the legs without looking bad or feeling like they're just "stuck" on there.

Buddy, I love the enthusiasm and I'm all for helping people get into Mugenbine, but this thread isn't Ebay (which is where you should start w/Mugenbine, probably). Please don't spam-quote every post that's popped up in the last year. If people are interested in selling, there are posts specifically about that (and you can probably PM those people rather than quoting them).

If you're wondering more about where to get Mugenbine, there are a few places to look. Ebay is great, as is Mandarake. Both are gonna probably run you a ton for shipping though since getting stuff over from Japan right now is not cheap. You've already been scouring the thread, so you should have seen a lot of ideas for how to get stuff.

Also: 0% willing to sell any of my stuff. I just FINISHED my collection, I'm not looking to offload it. XD

This was my haul today. I spent a solid $180usd on em. Half of it was shipping... Yikes! It came from one large box full of parts. Other than some Build Gattai minifigs and Teiouryu's cane, nothing else was missing. Quite a legendary find if I do say so

Is there a collection of Mugenbine instruction manuals anywhere? I feel like those are super rare at this point
