Okay, anyone else had the collar attached on the front instead of the back on their copy? Or am I doing something really stupid?

 

I don't have him in hand, but looking at peaugh's video he was able to completely detach the collar. It looks like there's a little white clip that the collar is attached by. On the opposite side there appears to be a white filler piece that assumingly 'should' just pop out so you can swap them?

 

I wonder if it’s a matter of turning the arms and legs to the other side since his back side is identical to his front(?).

Really? Because Omega should be around the size of Unicron's eye.

Any Unicron will only ever scale with micro-figures, and that would still be an approximation. He's already big & expensive enough, and for anyone who wants the most giant Unicron possible: Haslab! It's a thing that exists!

Let us have our slightly less shelf-&-wallet-breaking Unicron option, please!

 

I tried that, it means his thumbs are on the bottom of his hands!

 

Had a look at this, that plastic clip is between the main body and the part the head is attached to. I think you might be able to switch them, but I’m not confident you can do it without either breaking it or causing damage.
In the end, I just took the hands apart and swapped the thumbs to the other side (There’s a small filler piece, otherwise they’re identical, too).
Took about five minutes to switch both over, so he’s all good now

 

That's probably because the back and front are the same: note the back abs, back pecs, front and back TV screens...

 

I had to do something similar with Zeta's Bumblebee. One of his thumb sockets was broken so the thumb would just fall out so I swapped the thumb and the filler piece and then swapped hands.

 

You can gain access to the white clip for the collar and a filler piece on the other side by going through the upper body transformation until you raise the top part of the chest - as you do this the neck connector lowers and you will gain access to the clip which will just unpeg.

 

Watched peaugh's video. Decent enough robot mode but I just cannot abide the piss poor, second rate planet mode. It's just cheap and nasty looking and that maw is utterly pathetic.

i hope you got the cheaper deal. at 400 i would have just bought him here in the states. at least you get free shipping and will have it in a few days.

 

You also get tax in the states, which pretty much is shipping at this price point. It’s like $30-$40 tax at $400.

i dont keep up with online sales. but i thought there were a few states who dont charge the taxes on online sales. sadly texas isnt one of them

So here's my way of tackling scale with this guy, if you will.

Because I'm in on both this figure and the Haslab one, I'm relegating this one to the Generations display and the other one to the MP display. I intend to display this one in robot mode, (the bot looks infinitely better than the Haslab), looming behind like Galvatron and the movie crew and such. My personal "head canon" is going to be that this is simply an avatar of Unicron, kinda like what happened in TF Prime where he created bodies from the earth or whatever. So it won't be out of place really, for me. The Haslab Unicron has an absurdly awesome wingspan as a planet that it's gonna be a ball pretty much forever.

It kind of sucks that the Hasbro Omega is as big as it is, which makes this figure look even shorter. I'm probably just going to have him in base mode anyways. Personally think he should have been a commander class to scale better with the Combiner Wars teams, but that's for another thread.

But yeah, I still wish this guy was 20-22 inches since Zeta/TW's combiners are about that tall. But I can't deny the sculpt and cleanliness is the real driving force behind this thing.

 

Some US stores might get them in and processed before direct from China, but in the new world order, it is hard to tell. Plus waiting on another shipment or factor run is like almost a year or more now it seems.
Showz always has the best deal imo... though if you wait... you might get the next batch deal.
