I saw the original but didn’t realise this was by the same guy. Such great work. I wonder if he was asked to design it for a company or if this is just personal work.

Holy shit. I heard rumors that they never wanted to do Beast Wars again. If this is coming out then awesome. I have the other two statues and they're amazing.

Not so sure now it is prime 1.. sorry to get anyone’s hopes up. As per the previous post this looks to be something done by a 3D artist as a personal project or for 3D printing. I mean you never know.. maybe the design has been sold to a statue company or the artist has been picked up by one.

I was worried for a second; I don’t know how I’d stop myself buying a Prime1 Dinobot even though I definitely can’t afford to start adding that sort of thing to my collection or have any space to display such huge things.

Just read what the caption on the artist’s post and it’s his own 3D render which can be purchased and printed by anyone- with access to that sort of thing.

    ‘Hello everyone,
So I finally I managed to finish my Dinobot Statue. I hope everyone will enjoy printing my Dinobot Statue. I'll return to sculpting the characters my fans keep asking for I also hope people will like Beast wars Transformers series as much as I did and I still do.
The 3d print model is available on Cgtrader.com.
    Sincerely,‘

So, time to find somewhere that does 3D prints I guess.

Ah okay. Honestly kinda relieved because while I'd want it, it's nice not to drop $1200 on another statue.

That statue got me looking around so here’s another 3D artist’s interpretation of Dinobot.

Have you been able to find it? I've been looking on cgtrader.com. Haven't found it yet.

Rat in the mail - it's already started to shed the chrome, but that was to be expected. Applied a layer of topcoat over the problem parts and we'll see how long it lasts. At the worst the elements are isolated enough to just apply metallic paint over instead. Aside from its backheaviness I enjoy it. Felt better value for money than overpaying for the flipchanger (which is inevatibly going to happen but I'd like to delay it a little, lol).

Sweet take. :)  I like how his proportions look more alien yet still evoke the same vibe the original has.

Wait, so if you've got a flaking problem with chrome, you can apply something like a gloss varnish to it to help protect it? I'd like to know, because I have an unhealthy love of the Transmetal 2 Aesthetic, and have been thinking of picking up Scourge, but the reviews I've seen of that lil' cricket have said that he flakes more than a snowstorm.

Decided I wanted to get figs that appeared in the Manga. So McDonalds Panther it is....

He's actually pretty solid for a Happy Meal toy.

    Loose.

It's probably not a surefire solution, but that's what I gathered from browsing threads about the issue. The most common suggestion is either topcoat or floor polish. I've used Pledge on my other transmetal toys and they're holding up fine (although I also try to touch the surfaces in question as little as possible while playing with them).
