82341 I checked it against all the reported batch numbers with issues before I bought it and didn't see it on any of the lists of problems

Since the price is so reasonable I am seriously considering getting a Trypticon. I know to look for a higher batch number due to the joint issues, but I really want to know how much of a pain in the ass are the stickers?

It's not too bad, especially if you keep the legs off while you're stickering Trypticon (though it's also easy to slide them back out if you need to). I'd say the more difficult or tedious ones are the caution stripes that line the inside of the chest compartment, the ones placed on the undersides of the side ramps, and maybe the ones that go on the grey painted blocks in ship/city mode, though these last ones are more "place them roundabouts these areas because there's no actual designated space".

I bought my Trypticon brand new on release day. Still haven’t finished putting the stickers on, lol.

I put both the Reprolables and the included stickers on mine. Took a few evenings to finish.

I haven't been looking that hard TBH. Might be in some online shops for less.

They were pretty easy for me. Quality isn't bad either. I put them on, and the reprolabels as well. Those were more of a pain

I just had hernia surgery and can't life anything more than a few pounds for the next 3-5 weeks. How heavy is this guy?

My Tryp arrived on Friday. Batch... 71871? Legs are good. Just opened him up today. Got stickers added to Full Tilt, and now Spike (catbot #3) is demanding attention, and I've no way to lock him out. Looks like the rest of the stickers wait until tomorrow.

As for Full Tilt and Necro?

    Purple. Very, very, very purple.

    $*$*#^@(

So while Ir tested the tail and legs and the door seemed to close, I didn't try it with Full Tilt on it. Door is floppy. Tried fixing it as described, only seemed to make it worse. The halves simply will not close together via the screw, and either the door was imperceptible warped before flattening it, or my attempts to flatten it screwed it up even more. Grrrr.

EDIT - Tried unscrewing the screw. Turns out the reason it would not tighten was because the screw was broken. :banghead:

maybe you could try to heat up the plastic with an air dryer and use pliers by opening it beetwen the two edges

Just a little piece connector and full tower is complete. Now sanding, paint and install.

My apologies for resurrecting this thread, but I’ve searched around and can’t seem to find this mentioned before.

Brunt‘s cannon plugs into Trypticon’s cravat without any mods. It’s just been hidden.

With a little effort, the half-dome top to Brunt’s cannon disconnects from its base. The peg (expanding peg? What’s it actually called?) is the perfect size to plug into the large hole (too big for 5mm) on Tryp’s cravat.

    It fits perfectly.

Now, I’m not sure if this is by design, (those who have any info on Tryp’s engineering process, please lean in if you like), but it sits like the original, in exactly the spot it’s supposed to be. In city mode at least.

You get very light stress marks on the clip itself. But nothing snaps.

In battle-station/Nemesis mode, the cannon’s half-dome fits by friction in the spot where it belongs as well. With some slight tab engineering, it could sit perfectly.

This feels intentional - but was perhaps abandoned because of the effort to separate the pieces? That’s possible I suppose, but it could also be dumb luck.

However, I’ve always been bothered by the cravat port not being 5mm. And this peg fitting perfectly - it just pleases me to no end.

(And, leaving the shield/base piece attached to the treads makes a decent radar-something-dish to pop on the city/ship modes.)
