TRANS-ACTION? Because they're action figure transformers and thank you for your money. Here's your overpriced toy.

Considering it's Prime Arcee, it should be $20.10

Arcee would be $20.10 in your joke. It's TF Prime Arcee, not G1.

Remolds cost money, and to do this line right, you need a LOT of unique molds, full-stop. Mind you, the depth of development and manufacturing demands would still be HUGELY reduced compared to regular Transformers - straight action figures are much more simplistic, which is the other reason why the price they're charging for these is a bit scandalous.

Obviously, they can repaint anything into endless variants till the cows come home, but straight repaints aren't going to enrich the character depth of the line, and it's not going to keep a strong following. Never mind the fact that they're going to have a hard time maintaining their 6" scaling when so many of the core characters actually have dramatically different sizes.

That said, it would be nice if they could squeeze out at least a complete cast for Beast Wars or G1 '84 for the sake of the people who do buy in. Unfortunately, I predict this line will likely be dead by the end of the year... so get them while you can! :thumb

I attempted to figure out a scale by comparing the Hasbro designer's finger sizes in the pictures of Tiger Track and RED Optimus. Then compared Sideswipe to Siege Optimus. Then replaced the pictures of both RED Optimus and Siege Optimus with scaled photos.

This is what I THINK the scale looks like. A bit disappointed if accurate because Hasbro often uses the term "6 inch" for "6.25 inch" or "6.5 inch" lines and a 6.5 inch line would let these swap onto a shelf with WFC and Studio Series.

You could still fudge it but I was hoping not to have to fudge it. Particularly as Brian Flynn, McFarlane, and Four Horsemen claim complexity and run size do most of the price determination and otherwise there's little difference cost wise between 4 inch figures and 7 inch. So I don't think Hasbro would lose any money making these at the WFC/Studio Series size. Still cool figures but between the size mismatch and the accessory bundle for WFC, I'm probably going to stick with transforming Transformers despite having a preference for ML style figures. Without the ability to mix and match, these have a bit less charm for me.

Your mileage may vary as it is fudgeable.

So if this line takes off, I think Hasbro should use the BAF model of Marvel Legends and do team based waves. All the constructions, but with BAF parts to make a big old Devastator.

The only thing that could be a problem for the G1 figures is scale. But since they are able to even manage that now with transformable WFC figures, this should be easy. I really hope, they don´t make Soundwave the same size as Megatron. Can`t tell from the video.

Bonus points if each BAF part is the actual figure's alternate mode segment.

Not totally surprising. It reminds me of when Hasbro embarrassed themselves by releasing Combiner Wars G2 Menasor, basing it on a fan digibash rather then the actual G2 Menasor, leaving him with the wrong colours because the fanart got the colours wrong beforehand and Hasbro didn't properly fact-check before copying.

TBH it almost looks like Soundwave is bigger than Megs, but that could be eyes playing tricks. Guess we won’t know until it’s in our hands. ;)

Yeah, I guess he holds him closer to the camera, because the hand looks bigger, but as you said, we will see.

I just noticed that the knees on these figures don't look the greatest. Its kind of a bummer.

I just got my confirmation email of the RED Prime I ordered more than 6 hours ago. Guess the system is especially struggling right now. Though that really isn't something new...
