There are some good ideas in that kit, but I am not convinced that GS King Poseidon needed a third party head identical to the original one... and Dreamwave's style of throwing the original figure under the carpet makes you wonder what is the point of buying the figure in the first place, if to "upgrade" it you end up buying a $50 blanket to cover half of it. There have been many combiner upgrades which went WITH the original figure, but Dreamwave is more of INSTEAD of the original figure.

Yeah---I don't even own these guys, but with just the upgrade set I could pretty much make Piranacon:

The only one of their sets that I think really did it right (at least by your standards) was for Volcanicus. It certainly did put a lot onto his mode, but it didn't just cover everything and say "Hey, here's torso mode but better."

I like how this set looks, but I'm not sure on execution. A lack of pictures with him holding the last member as a gun does make me suspicious that these elbows won't be that great for supporting another figure (which is fair). Plus, it seems to me that these elbows are going to require some partsforming rather than being simple covers, considering the ball joints on the ends.

As someone who's donated blood and eventually plasma after the time period passed, your body could have a variety of effects from frequent selling. I did it for about a year and experienced so much fatigue after. Not to mention the scars; those are there for life. I'd say sure it's a fast, easy way to make money, but everyone's bodies react differently and sometimes yours needs every bit of yourself to sustain wellness.

Regarding the kit, it looks beautiful although I don't see anything done to fix Poseidon's hips meaning all this extra weight is just going to make the big guy fall over faster. The original figures aren't of good enough QC for me to warrant spending any more on them. I wish TFC would get a move on with their repaint.

Looks like you might slip the bottom of the elbow upgrade in-between where the legs tab in to each other, then cover up the top part of the legs.

Woohoo, I'm so excited! I preordered as soon as BBTS sent me the email that it was available to preorder. Honestly, I like most of it, but some I think was totally unnecessary. The sword and feet weren't needed as the ones he came with are actually REALLY good (especially compared to the CW and especially POTP ones... ). The chest and head, but possibly to a lesser extent. The thigh covers are what I was REALLY wanting.... those abominus chicken legs should NOT have been carried over :D

Oh come on! $65? I was willing to go $35. The Playstation 5 is coming out this year + Star Wars Squadrons. I'm gonna need to get the VR set. Also Watch Dogs Legion & Cyberpunk 2077. I can't do this toy shit anymore. Their greed is out of control now. Isn't it bad enough we had to pay Japanese double prices for Piranacon because Hasbro was too fuckin lazy to release the damn thing in America?

Whatever! PASS! Now they're just flat out pissing me off! They want $65 for fuckin parts, not even an actual figure, just a few parts.

And why the hell do we need a new head? The original head is awesome.

They...did release the Seacons in America. They were available via Pulse, TCP, and TFS.

That doesn't count. They imported the Japanese versions. I'm talking about being released in Siege or Earthrise in Walmart & Target for American prices. $30 for a voyager, not $60.

Technically it does. They were made available to US customers through US-based retailers. As for regular retail release, Hasbro couldn't because combiners don't have room in the current story they're trying to tell. They did three years of mainline combiners and had other figures to release to mass retail. That's just how collector's items work.

Ah see I found the problem right here and went ahead and bolded and colored it red for you. You really don't NEED either. It's also kind of funny how you call out the greed of this toy shit but site the need to buy well over $700 on VR ready video game equipment...

But to Onslaught24's point Pulse is a Hasbro direct to consumer retailer so it was released in American as an exclusive so it counts. Whether you chose to believe that or not is entirely up to you. Doesn't make you right, but you're free to live in whatever alternate world you choose.

Honestly, I've had to do surgery on all of my combiners to get the joints tight enough. I haven't assembled King Poseidon yet, but I imagine I'll have to here as well. Normally I take all the deluxes apart and shim the spring for the combiner joint so it is harder to ratchet. The fixes for the Voyagers aren't the same for all types, but a good number of them I've shimmed by sliding thin pieces of plastic behind the tooth that the gear rotates on. Sky Lynx/Dezarus actually required taking apart the combiner's should joints and sanding them. Liberal use of Future, too, typically on the balljoints used in the deluxes. Some are worse than others; my Superion had super floppy deluxes with a very tight voyager, Bruticus's deluxes were better but the Fire Engine/Flak Truck torso is the absolute hardest to fix, and then my Predacus didn't really need any extra work at all.

Once I've done that work, (combined with aftermarket feet) my combiners don't fall down. But I won't lie, it's a lot of work--I've got a pile of uncombined combiners that I haven't gotten to yet. And I don't think even I can make King Poseidon strong enough to hold his fish gun (Bruticus required tons of work to get him to even hold Shockwave). But I'm pretty sure I can get him strong enough to handle this upgrade kit, because the weight is so much better distributed (weight on the legs is easy to compensate for, torso weight the next easiest, with weight on the end of the arms being the absolute worst).

But Hasbro released the Takara versions, same as every other retailer that sold them. And while Hasbro's prices were slightly better than places like BBTS or TFSource, they were still Takara prices and at least double the usual $20 Deluxe/$30 Voyager prices. @Aimless Misfire isn't wrong, if Hasbro had released actual US Hasbro versions instead of selling the Takaras they wouldn't been nearly as expensive- other Generations Selects figures aren't that pricey. Hell, that Centurion repaint of Brunt is coming with a crap ton of extra little accessories and it's still only $20.

Price is too steep consider the QC issues with the last 3 kits I've bought of theirs
