Wanted to get this going for a bit but wanted to wait until I got all of the toys in first. So yea, share your pics, stories, etc and let's celebrate the company that really did a lot of innovative and influential things for the unlicensed sector of TF collecting.

I don't really think there are any rules to these threads besides just keeping it to FP stuff but if be cool if this doesn't just become pages of speculation/complaining as there are other threads for that.

Sorry for the lack of any sort of organization in the pics here but fact I'm in the middle of getting it all packed to move and these were all just shot before getting put into boxes.

Hey Kuma, great pics! I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of my Function-X figures. Especially the first 3...

Meanwhile, I'm looking at installing some shelving like you have in the F-X group shot. I'm thinking 10" or 12" deep. What are you using there? Are you happy with it?

I bounced pretty hard off of their dinobots, outside of Columpio and Cubrar, but I own most of their other products and I don't really ever see myself getting rid of them. I'd still like to see that Roller prototype get made.

I've bought and sold a whole lot over the years but FP (and MT) are broadly the only 3rd party I've kept, and have either continued to buy or even gone back and rebought! Love the designs, love the aesthetics.

Masterpiece/generations scratch my G1 itch. FP/MT scratch the "grown up transformer" itch for me. Problem is, they've stopped producing figures! I'm a big fan of the FP/MT combiner and the FP Insecticons. Any recommendations for similar scaled and styled figures? I'm running out of options!

Thank you for starting this Kuma! I have been wanting to start a Fansproject Appreciation thread for a while now. Such a unique vision and artistic style, coupled with a true passion for the figures, the lore, and the experience. I love their attention to detail and just the passion fan elements felt, seen, and experienced in their figures.

Just some quick pictures to get started...

Mine are all boxed up right now while I am in the middle of a massive collection purge - some of them will survive it but not all, I just don't have the space I used to have (and honestly, I kind of don't want that much space anymore - made it hard for me to appreciate them when there were so many). My family has gotten bigger and my toy collection has shrunk accordingly. :)

I want to share some new pictures when I can. The only one I have out is the G2 "Kar Krash" figure, he's on my desk climbing on a giant pile of "to do" right now. I'm still debating whether or not I want to open the three other ones A3U has done so far - I always liked having him out there on his own as a random one-off recolor. While part of me likes that there's potentially still going to be a whole team, because G2 is love, I also feel like it takes away part of the charm he originally had.

Also, biggest downside to combiners, IMO, is that if you display them in combined form all the time you're missing out on all the fun of the individual figure designs.

Here are some old pictures of the 3P display I used to have up - it was nearly all FP with some MT figs included. I seem to have lost a bunch of old photos too. :(

[edit] took a few quick snaps of Kar Krash since I've got him out. Balanced? You betcha.

    100_6119.JPG

Suave? You know it. He's James Bond, in a 70s disco suit.

    100_6118.JPG

This one is for @Kuma Style - a big old Hadouken wind up, or Kamehameha if that's your poison. :)

    100_6117.JPG

These earlier figures have less articulation than what everyone wants today, but I just love 'em. Some call an elbow that bends to 90 degrees "restricted" but I like to think of it as "far less complicated than a double-jointed elbow on a slide". They've got more visible kibble but to me that just means less sliding panel origami and more intuitive / quicker transformation.

If I could go back in time to 2013 or so I'd just tell myself to buy all the FP, MT, and early MMC reformatted stuff I could, because once 3P started down the path of Masterpiece and insane comic or cartoon accuracy, forever has it dominated the 3P market's destiny.

If in your purge, you are going to have a Diaclone Black snarl for sale, I call dibs, please. :)

I'm working on completing my Fansproject collection. I love the take on the homages to classic characters and the style of the original bots. Just got Constructo Core yesterday. These are in no particular order.

Just finally found a red-chested Swoop to go with my TFCON blue version. Just opened it this morning and have him sitting in a COVID-19 timeout on a random shelf for another day or two, just to be safe, as I got it used from Las Vegas.

Now all I need is the Diaclone Black Snarl to complete the dinobots.

Awesome. How is Constructo? I don't have any of the Core figures yet.

The Core bots mold is great. They had some issue with the hinge part of the waist breaking on Steel Core as it was too tight. Constructo Core is the pinnacle of this mold. The joints are perfect and the deco looks much better in person. The paint even gives him a rough texture to the touch. There were some slight mold changes on Severo Core and Constructo Core so only Steel Core can attach to the trailer.

I only need Defender, Recoiler & Riftshot and I'll have all the Warbots. However, I was able to purchase Riftshot & Recoiler's extra bits so I have an upgraded Revolver.

One of my favorites even without the upgrades from Riftshot and Recoiler. 20200321_210122.jpg

Still got a lot of LOVE for these Ninsecticons! Really wish we got those WarBugs, or whatever they were called.

I don't think so - there were the deluxe repaints they did but I don't recall any serious talk of them making Venom.

Man those warbugs, I'd have bought those for sure. Loved the designs.

I was thinking last night as I was going through my figures about any other unreleased figures they had, and the Warbugs and Hardhead were the only ones I could think of. Kastor Core I guess, which was shown a couple years ago. Did they actually manage to release all the other stuff they'd shown? I keep thinking there was another figure they were going to do earlier in the Warbot line maybe.
