I just worry that these will replace any chance we have at true updates if they expand into obscure characters.

A properly show-accurate Knockout with a buzzsaw would rock.

Heck, if they made a slightly larger $30 pricepoint they could make Breakdown with his hammer-hand.

They could make Built-A-Figure for big characters...

I'm definitely getting interested in this Line! Really hoping they'll do Armada and Animated stuff too! Maybe even some Milne comic designs

I agree, that bothers me as well. I think they should make the windows on his chest solid blue.

So...Red was not reissues, repaints, but in fact Actionmasters 2.0 at 6" scale. WTF?! Okay I am hardcore G1, and Megatron looks REALLY good, but DAMN give some of the budget and shelf space to some non G1 for Pete's sake! Beast Wars, Unicron trilogy, RID, Prime/BH, Animated.....any of these would have been a better choice in my opinion.

I think a big part of the problem is G1 was the foundation for everything (not the inherent problem), but that most of us who grew up with it were pretty dang poor and lived in places that didn't have the newest stuff or the best stores.

That's not a whine, that's a fact. One of the worst economies in recent years and it was the late 90s before a good lot of us could actually attain our childhoods "properly" for the first time. We're continuing to do that, now, and Has/Tak wants our money.

We all tend to forget it's someone else's 1980s, in the 00s, this decade (especially with 2020) will be someone else's, and so on. We've been at this for so long, Unicron Trilogy feels like last year, but it's actually pushing twenty years for Armada! Those kids are now adults and finally able to buy what they couldn't then, and they want the recognition we've gotten through the years.

Every line is someone else's G1. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. We're all in this together.

Yes, or like how it was shown in Beast Wars where it was under a protective shell.
Yeah, I know Prime and Megs will probably sell better but I wouldn't have liked using the line to maybe make figures of the 13 Primes or scaled down Primus or Unicron figures.

I wouldn't mind them using 5mm accessories, those could be used with CHUG and vice versa.

I hope the packaging design is nice and eye catching. My guess is this is the result of the reissues and especially the cel-shaded figures... I'm guessing both were somewhat of a test to see if there was a market for these. I'd say more the cels, than the reissues.

    These are so yuck.
Cheetor fixin to be the Bumblebee-style focus in the Beast Wars movie. Someone at Hasbro really loves yellow, I guess.

A sticker, cardboard, paint, styrene plastic on the other side of the windows would fix that so it wasn't visible until his chest doors were opened

Likely meaning no kibble or compromises in the design since it doesn't transform giving the robot a clean full on accurate robot mode

That's something that I've always found odd. The only Kid Appeal Autobots/Maximals (tm) that weren't yellow are Hound and Sideburn and Hound doesn't even count. Do kids in focus groups just love yellow?

For my money, "Transformers" is a brand. It doesn't imply they always transform any more than "Marvel Legends" is technically inaccurate for devoting space to characters like The Wrecking Crew or Serpent Society or maybe even the Thunderbolts or New Warriors who might not technically be "legends". "Iron Man" isn't made of iron.

For my money, Transformers and transforming is more like Star Trek and ships. There are people who are really into the ships, the nacelles, the phaser strips, the blueprints.

And then you have 4, 5, and 7 inch figures and roleplay toys with no ships and frequently no diorama space for the insides of the ships.

No toyline has ever included a star. Even shuttles and transporter rooms which enable the "Trek" are rarely included with action figures and never as roleplay accessories. And then ship based toylines rarely include the characters. You focus on some parts of the line and exclude others.

Same. It'd be sad if someone like Rollout finally gets an update and it's one of these. Hopefully this line just sticks to cartoon designs.
