Curious what the consensus will be on these, since they seem pretty polarizing and wanted to make a poll (hopefully that is different enough from the "appreciation" thread to not be doubling up)

I made it so you could choose 2 options if there's not enough nuance in the answers for you.

As for me, no ~ I really only buy Transformers that transform (I got a mega SCF Star Saber/Victory Lio back in the day because it thought I was the only way I'd ever have a representation of those characters, and it was HUGELY disappointing having a Transformer that doesn't transform ~ Actionmasters was where I tapped out on G1) and I really don't like the under-detailed Sunbow simplicity on display on the 2 versions shown (and not to completely repeat myself from the front page thread, but I just think the Optimus Prime looks absolutely terrible all around).

I am curious to see what Cheetor and Prime Arcee look like, if they'll have more surface detailing and dynamic designs.

*Maybe, I need to see more

I like action figures in general, so it doesn't bother me if it doesn't transform, but they will need to exceed at calling themselves/being an action figure, if that make any sense.

But, I don't like the selections so far. If they chose more obscure characters or the G1 Action Master line up minus the usual Optimus-Megtron-Bee-Soundwave-Starscream-etc. line up, I'd be more excited.

Anything Beast Wars will definitely be bought, as well as if they make the G1 Dinobots. I’ll have to fight hard to resist if they make the Seekers. I’m interested to see what other generations they cover, but at the end of the day I’d much rather have transforming versions of them.

    Definitely in for a few.

How many will depend on what they mean by "6 inches".

If they're ALL 6 inches, I'm probably out fairly quick.

If they're in a scale around 6 inches, maybe.

If the faction leaders are 6.5 inches tall and the carbots are around 5.5 inches tall with a 3.5 inch Bumblebee and I can slip these in with WFC and Studio Series then I'm probably not only in but some may replace CHUG figures on my shelf in a mixed display.

I want that Megatron to be 6.5 inches tall and have a Bandai flight stand port and then I'll flank him with Siege Refraktors and stick my other Megatrons in a box in the closet.

It's a better Megatron than the compromises we've had to turn him into a tank.

I think I'd flat out PREFER S3 G1/TFTM characters in this style to the best transforming figures anybody could do. Ditto Alpha Trion and Elita-1. Possibly Dinobots if in Dino mode. True for most of the IDW characters as well.

If a character that never transformed onscreen like Alpha Trion(IIRC) and Nightbird show up, maybe. Maybe for some of the Action Master characters that were unique to that line.

Back in the day the Action Masters were interesting initially but my interest wore off hard after starting to miss actual Transformers.

No. If this was 2003, I'd think this was the greatest thing ever, but I don't really see the point of them now? I'm just not the target audience here.

Probably optimus and megatron. I'll just fan mode some transformations, truck mode is Optimus lying down and megatron pistol is one of his legs up lmao

    At this point, no.

Perhaps at some point when they do other generation or aesthetic figures, like a good BW Dinobot design (Or other characters that can't have good Transformer toys due to the nature of the design), maybe then. As of right now, no.

Like I have been circling around... I need to see them next to CHUG figures and one another. I want a sense if they'll mix with CHUG or one another. I want a sense of the heft, the flight stand compatibility, etc.

I also note pinned joints on these and since Marvel Legends is moving to pinless joints, want to know if these will be using those.

I want to see the difference in person. Are these bigger, smaller, same size? Do the heights vary? Where's the baseline set if so? What do the backs look like. I really want a full 360. I want to see them in different lighting.

I'll preorder two to get that sample if it takes that but I feel like I'll feel burned if it wasn't what I wanted and be less likely to try more.

When I saw Ghostbusters Plasma series in person, my opinions of them all changed. In natural lighting and tilting the package around, I thought Dan Aykroyd's likeness (all of them really) was BETTER than it looked in whitebox photography. They need shadows to bring out the likeness. But I liked the jumpsuits LESS in person. They were too plain. The details on them look muddy. I'm not sure if I needed a wash effect and painted zippers or maybe a subtle coarse texture applied to the uniform to diffuse light but I can see light through the fabric and it hurts the illusion.

Meanwhile, I liked Power Rangers MORE in person. I'd probably hold out for metallic decos on those for more of a satin sheen.

I can't decide based on photos in staged lighting without comparisons. I can't even tell if Megatron lovehandles are painted red!

I like the style of figure but I'm hardpressed to believe anybody has seen enough except to say they hate the concept or are open to it.

I can say I'm MORE interested in it than original Action Masters, Reaction, or Furai kits.

I'm not sure what the figures REALLY look like or if they can integrate with my collection though.

And I think that could change minds EITHER WAY. Some may break down and use this as their CHUG Megatron after weighing alternatives. Others may like the idea RIGHT NOW and be disappointed in-hand.

I'd really like there to be a factory leak in the next 24 hours before I'm asked to commit.

I will gladly buy figures of characters who have transforming toys that don't properly reflect their robot designs (characters such as Animated Lockdown or PRIME Knockout), as well as any more obscure characters whose alt modes aren't super important (like Alpha Trion or Autobot Spike).

But the straight up G1 characters like the Optimus and Megatron they've shown off so far? Nah, I already spent enough on figures of them that actually DO convert. Seriously, I JUST found ER Prime a few weeks ago.

There's a crapload of robots out there that don't transform.. so if I wanted that, I'd get those.. heck I already do with Gundams, and a few other lines.

    So I'll pass.

Yep, only Decepticons, unless there's a specific (Autobot) character or design that I really like, then I'll make an exception.

Nope. Unless they went all in for Action Master designs and transforming weapons, not happening. I just don't collect Transformers that don't transform.

It all comes down to characters. If this is how we get new toys of Omega Spreem and Mainframe I’m not thrilled but I’ll take it.
