I can almost guarantee you that the people sick and tired of "geewun" are a very vocal minority, if you brought up Transformers to most people they wouldn't know or even care what "G1" is. Or once you'd tell them they'd just say "Oh so that's what the original stuff is classed as? neat." and that'd be it.

Or at the very least they can still want different things without just hating an important part of TF's identity because it seems a bit counter productive to hate the foundation of something you apparently like so much.

Well, this is something. I can't see them doing anyone past their main characters of the Season 1 cast, but if they did someone like Ultra Magnus I could be potentially lured into buying one.

With Walmart getting so many dang exclusives, I hope this doesn't affect the G1 reissue line. I need more minibots...

I hope these aren't part of that First Fan Friday happening on 6/26 via Hasbro Pulse..

There's supposed to be 6 TF Reveals this Friday.

I get the angle here, but I'd prefer something we haven't got in a significant way - Humans.

    Sorry for the giganto image.

As @Jacer mentioned in chat - I get it, business. Walmart isn't gonna buy waves of this stuff as most are obscure. I do think if you do the Build a Figure method, with a REALLY good robot in double scale from 6 inch humans - You'd get people buying cases all while filling in your brand and lore with unique offerings. Plus you have the talent and production methods down for 6 inch figures already (4 current lines + some).

    That's my 2 cents.

Please give us Action Master characters. That's all I want from this line.

Yeah, this line would be perfect for them. Sadly, i have a feeling it would mostly focus on G1 Show Characters... cuz' that's where the money's at for some reason.

G1 may be selling boatloads of money now. But there's going to be a point where it's not going to be a big seller anymore in the future. Relying on G1 this much will only take Hasbro so far especially since the current 80's nostalgia train will eventually come to an end. It won't have anything to gain by just selling the same dang product over and over again. Like for example this action master line would've been a great way to give some of the non transforming characters like Pretenders a chance to shine again. But it still could though so who knows?

With how some of the established B1 characters are actually indeed the G1 characters of the same name such as Ravage,Grimlock,The non fuzor Silverbolt,Ironhide,Prowl,Arcee, and Ultra Magnus, that's pretty much a given anyway.

    This.

That still doesn't change the fact that Hasbro can't rely on only G1 to make ends meet forever. Fond memories and iconic imagery isn't going to be enough to sustain the brand. Not for much longer anyway. Besides there were times where some of the more popular and beloved TF characters didn't get much love until being exposed more later on so unless Hasbro wants to have Transformers go the way of other 80's brands,it'll have to start give more exposure to it's other eras in some form or another sooner or later.

This I can get behind too. It helps that some of the human characters like Sari Sumdac are fan favorites too so if anything they'd be making money from this.

This might sound crazy, but people asking for more non-G1 figures on shelves doesn’t mean they “hate G1”. I don’t get why fans have adopted this mentality.

I wonder if this will be the end of Super7 Reaction figures. They are 18 and these are 19.99 and are bigger with way more articulation. I'm down for these now :)

The reason it's the only thing available is BECAUSE it sells well. Hasbro has VERY good focus groups. They aren't one of the top toy companies by blindly swinging at every pitch. During the "dark ages" of the Unicron Trilogy, there were LOTS of people looking for G1 product, but there was very little available. TRU would have a small amount of G1 reissues and those sold out in seconds. G1 has the magic that built the brand. Hasbro's sticking with that and adapting that for new generations. The lines that failed to perform commercially (Rid200x and Unicron Trilogy) will mostly be tossed aside. It's Darwinian. The strong survive, the weak get culled. There is no "toyline welfare".

Imagine all these sweet variants and multiple buys, like Seekers and Reflector. Nice.

If MP\'s hadn\'t undertaken the (IMO, awful) cartoon-centric aesthetic, then I would say that there was a market for these figures for many transfans.  However, I think these figures are mainly aimed at older, casual fans (who don\'t normally collect TFs).

As for \"being sick of G1\", perhaps more and more people aren\'t \"sick\" of it, but rather don\'t recognise the whole thing.  There are more and more people who are growing up who feel that \"Beast Wars\" or \"Cybertron\" was their \"G1\".

Anyway, unless these are cheap as chips, these are an easy pass.  I\'ve already got several \"anime\" styled G1 figures from Takara over the years.

As cool as it would be to see some of those characters again, I think I'd prefer that they get transforming figures this time around. Many of them have details that suggest vehicle modes: Rollout is obviously construction equipment, Skyfall is likely aircraft, etc.

So yes, I would want Cullen / Welker action figure, 6 inch scale, along with others.
