If you buy the postage online, yes. Just raise the little flag.

Hey, all--Is the wing-popping-off issue (on Thundercracker) an issue if you just leave it in bot mode and pose it? Sorry, not too familiar with this mold. Thanks in advance.

Just in case that isn't sarcasm:

That's what the flag is for. Put it in your mailbox, put the flag up and the mailman knows there's something to take away. If you live somewhere with community mailboxes that won't work but if you live in an apartment with a locked building and mailboxes inside, you should be able to put boxes by the mailbox and they'll take them (though if I put something on the floor I'd always put a post-it note by the mailboxes lock saying "take the package below please")

It's the slow trickle for almost EVERY product except for movies/music. I've been in various aspects of retail and supply chains for 25 years. Electronics, toys, appliances, home goods, etc ALL have "soft releases." Especially with product that goes to central warehouses for distribution. Different stores have different needs. A Target in Redneckville Oklahoma might not move as much product as a Target in Snootytown California. I have 6 Target stores in my toy-hunting zone. Some get new stock almost instantly, and nothing sits on the shelf more than a week. I go to those stores when I'm looking for new NECA TMNT stuff or Transformers or Marvel exclusives. Others in more rural areas get ALL the clearance stuff and it sits there. It's a good place to look for stuff that is sold out elsewhere but I don't want to pay the comicbook/specialty store prices. I've seen online only exclusives on the shelf there.

Nothing "old and obsolete". You just want more effort put into something that doesn't NEED that effort. Hasbro tries to put street dates on product. Rarely have I seen it enforced. I saw Ghostbusters on shelves two weeks before the street date. They are "just toys" and stores have limited space to stock stuff. Their whole model is get it out ASAP to order new product.

The reason why movies & music is such a different model is because their model is almost as old as the trickle model. Most retail use movies and music as loss-leaders. They advertise a movie coming on a date to get people into the store. Hopefully, that person that buys the $17 dvd will also buy a TV, a bunch of groceries, and a soda at the register. Unlike toys, new release movies and music get drop-shipped to the store shortly before the street date. The coordination is done by the industry, not the retailer. Catalog titles are shipped from the warehouses.

If Skywarp comes to a store in June, July, or August doesn't matter. Target will sell it. It's a small fraction of their business. Absolutely zero reason to bend over backwards for 1% of the business by coordinating a release.

    Just to clarify even further:

The letter or package has to have paid postage on it. I know that seems obvious, but dude asked if he could 'just leave it' in the mailbox.

Modern technology means they can do things the same way with less people on the payroll. Not revolutionize logistics. The toy store model failed not because of the logistics of toy selling. They went out of business because kids as young as 18 month olds all have cell phones and no one wants toys except middle-aged men trying hard to cling to the 1980's. Kay Bees & Toys R Us were killed off because they were bought by a capital group that saddled them with millions in debt that they weren't prepared to absorb and were liquidated for their assets. The stores had rising costs in retail space, dropping customer base, and the death of saturday morning cartoons (which were free advertisements for their product). They reached out for help from a buyout. It was basically a blood transfusion patient asking for help from Dracula.

Moreover there are often post office drop boxes all over the place.

You never know with modern web development trends. The days of the browser receiving a fully rendered page are over. They like to do SPA (Single Page Architecture) where you get one totally blank page and a tangle of poorly designed JavaScript web services fills in the pieces. If any of those scripts encounters an issue (from "it timed out" to "Rajesh missed a semicolon and pushed straight to production without testing"), execution simply stops. Internet Explorer _used_ to pop up error messages, but people cried, so Chrome and its fellow travelers suppress everything (unless you pull up the console that's flooded with warnings, many of which are bullshit). Execution just silently stops and you're lucky if even links to navigate elsewhere work.

It's 2020 & nothing has really changed since the 60's & 70's (except the telephone). A lot of things have gone backwards & have gotten worse instead of better.

Seriously? THIS is the best it's going to get? suicide smiley.gif

Thanks again. I only had time to put one together during my lunch break. The tiny skinny arm held starscream, but over time I think it will fail. I’m gonna mix and match the second one and use the big arm for another seeker.

NP. Yeah, the small arm is meant for small accessories, effects, and maybe tiny figures.

I tried it with earthrise cliffjumper, but I wasn't thrilled with that either. I'm glad I got two, the 2 big arms will work well for me.

My order arrived today from Target.com. :thumb

The purple on Skywarp is way too dark. Gonna have to get to work on that. It's a lot darker than these photos show. The stripes on the wings barely show up next to the black.

    P1010001.JPG

    P1010002.JPG

Here's a couple things that suck:

    1. The purple Hasbro used on Skar is the purple they needed to use on both Skywarp's. So all of you guys could've had the correct purple. "Missed it by that much" -Maxwell Smart
You see why I complain about that? They came so close. Maybe if we all complained & got the message to Hasbro somehow, this type of thing wouldn't happen?

    2. I originally painted the shoulders purple on my Siege custom but felt there was too much purple so I changed them back to black. Now I need to change them back to purple. And the knee's need to be Back In Black (any AC/DC fans here?).

Remember, the flash makes the purple look way brighter than it actually is. And my custom on the left perfectly matches the original G1 Skywarp.

    P1010003.JPG

And a couple more minor nitpicks:

    1. The blue plastic they used on Thundercracker's tail fins & the pieces on the top of the plane that hold the wings on don't match the rest of the body.

    2. The Decepticon symbols on the wings are barely visible. Almost totally invisible on Skywarp.

    3. Starscream has stripes on his vertical wings but the others don't. You hear that Reprolabels?

Thundercracker's blue, can you see the slight difference?
    P1010004.JPG

Look at the symbol on TC's right wing. lol Blends right in.
    P1010005.JPG

    Skywarp's symbols are barely visible.
    P1010006.JPG

    What happened to the stripes???
    P1010008.JPG

My final thoughts: This sucks & I'm going to sell my entire Transformers collection & start collecting Strawberry Shortcake & My Little Ponies. :p

Welcome to the forum! Are you an Autobot or Decepticon? If you're an Autobot I will have to kill you! Sorry! But those are the rules.:D

I don’t understand how Target.com is shipping to some yet not others. I totally believe these will be plentiful on shelves for us who wants them, but at this moment I’m determined to not casually visit stores.

Same here, it makes no sense at all. That's fine for Waspinator, he's always had nonsense, but for the collectors.
