There is...it's called the KO. Since pretty much the whole figure is problematic, it's unfortunately what needs to be replaced.

Thing is, until it's out nobody knows if the KO is gonna have issues of its own. Doubtful it'll have crumbling plastic though. But if it has weirdly shaped undefined faces or shitty joints, no paint or mis-coloured plastic that's just as much of a deal-breaker for me, and I'd rather wait for the TT or Hasbro Asia reissue.

That is true, but shy of replacing the entire figure, there isn't a specific problematic piece worth reproducing as a fix.

Nope, no comments about changing to a new factory. That still holds true

Damn .. TSource advertising MP Hound as a Father’s Day gift, now that’s just plain mean-spirited :)

That might've come from PharmDuc? If I recall, his explanation was that one factory was producing the parts and another was assembling them.

BBTS stated it in the description at the time, and I want to say Seibertron.com mentioned this. After all these years the is the best I could remember. Plus eBay at the time the fixed version was released. The fix was supposedly the leg panels that kept coming off.

I think all I can say with Hound at this point is,

"Look how they massacred my boy..."

Got a Hound today, and even knowing where the breakage occurs, and using as much care as I could, the tailgate snapped off. Really disappointing, especially given the many strengths of the sculpt and engineering. I guess I'll just keep the broken bits inside his foot where they would normally go. It's a sure bet I'll never feel comfortable transforming it into alt mode again.

That sucks! Yeah, the tailgate scared the crap out of me first time I transformed it. Don’t know why they gave it such minimal clearance.

Unless you can return it, glue that mofo (assuming you have all the pieces).

This the best plastic cement I’ve ever used:

If only I had that for my MMC Vos. Mine was not given mercy from the somewhat widespread build quality issues with those shoulder parts that go around his shoulders.

Luckily so far, I hope to not worry about that anymore. Sold mine off and I have the reissue coming to take it's place.

That's enough cross-pollination of threads from me for now, haha.

I'm not going to return it, and I know enough from past disappointments that Takara customer support is non-existent. Of the dozen or so Masterpiece figures I've bought over the years, I can only think of two that didn't have something wrong with them right out of the box. So, I'm going to leave that piece rattling around in Hound's foot (I will pick up some of that cement for another project, though--thank you!) as a reminder to myself of what to expect from Takara's "Masterpieces"--fine looking, well-engineered, over-priced pieces of candy glass that are only made to endure the time it takes to get from box to shelf.

There has to be some sort of reason why Takara is resorting to lower quality materials instead of the strong plastic you'd normally get with past releases, praying to primus that MP-51 doesn't have poor plastic issues

There have been a few reports of trying new plastic mixes, trying new factories, etc. No one knows exactly why Hound has issues. More than likely, Takara will have everything fixed by the time mp51 releases. Mp48 was fine by all reports. Not sure where that one is made.

Fingers crossed, and really hoping for some kind of news on a fixed reissue soon. So disappointing. If they haven't fixed the problems by the time Arcee rolls around, I'm just picturing her falling apart with a slight wind.

I almost pulled the trigger on this. I just can't justify it with this quality. Are they really all like this?
