All that, and yet Siege Ultra Magnus turned in to GUOP pretty seamlessly.

It's more likely than you think. Especially if PMOP doesn't go all-in on his G1 transformation and adapts it similar to Magnus.

Because I'm not sure you can get a fully articulated set of legs and arms out of a trailer without compromising the inner robot more than they'd want to. Though, I guess they could just adapt PotP prime and shrink him down a bit.

And unless they've got *another* Prime lined up for retail they wouldn't want to shove PMOP in the commander price point.

Of course, the assumption is that PMOP comes as part of WfC3. And who knows, maybe he turns out to be a retool of the inevitable Earth Magnus.

I don't know why I never consider PMOP and Thunderclash as sharing a base mold before, it's pretty perfect.

 

Oh, absolutely. I’m sure that any ol’ person wandering through the aisle just thinks “Cool combining Optimus Prime” which is probably why the concept has been used as much as it has.

Magnus and Cybertron OP at least have similarly shaped vehicle modes. Even then, GUOP only visually resembles Cybertron OP in fully combined bot mode (mostly from the chest up).
Also, I’m not sure a potential PMOP should be a retool of Earthrise UM. I think fans would be upset that PMOP’s trailer partsforms around the core cab instead of turning into a full body sans torso. Personally, I myself want a PMOP with slightly taller proportions.

 

Fans seemed very happy with Siege Magnus, which did exactly that. The inevitable Earth Magnus will likely follow suit.

I see no reason why PMOP couldn't undergo a similar change. Doesn't even have to be exactly like Magnus, but similar.

And PMOP had a base mode even in G1, so if the trailer can assume that form it lends itself to Thunderclash's weapon platform as well. Or a variation of it.

 

That’s true. Aside from the chest, they’ve historically functioned pretty similarly. I guess it’s just paranoia about what the fans might choose to go rabid on, lol. Armor aside, I would still prefer if the cab bot of PMOP strayed from just a standard OP transformation.

 

It's why he and Armada could effectively share a mold. You could have an updated PMOP provide the arms, which would allow for a simpler trailer that could focus on being solid legs, and adapt either Armada's to put the cab nose somewhere or adapt the PMOP to put his cab forward on the chest.

 

Ramjet looks... unfinished. Cyclonus has the wrong head and the least interesting of his three color schemes, but his jet mode looks good. Not sure how much they can improve upon Siege Soundwave. But Hangin'WithTheBoysaTron looks fun.

Welp, I'm heading to lunch earlier than expected....

 

Paint in both modes are a little underwhelming (the front landing gear is really gonna need some work), but overall I’m good with it! Top Gun and Transformers ... there was never a question.

 

So we've seen the Coneheads and Soundwave from the latest Fan Friday and Maverick had his own reveal earlier. Cyclonus is the only one not acknowledged yet and Studio Series started having reveals with Leadfoot yesterday. I imagine he is indeed a Studio 86 release and will be shown off at SDCC this week

 

I think Daimchok posted an image of Thrust in robot mode. I couldn’t tell if his face was white and eyes yellow. I hope so. Any idea the release date for Thrust?

That image was proven to be doctored with the Classics Deluxe Thrust's wings and fins, if you're talking about the conehead group shot. I think there was a computer listing that stated Cyclonus as Kingdom, yes

 

Why wasn’t Earthrise Thrust been revealed during Hasbro Pulse con? The end of the year is approaching...

 

More odd still that There was a "Thrust" character in the WFC:ER Netflix trailer that premiered during the event and the next line was announced with known but unconfirmed stragglers like Thrust and ER Bluestreak. I have read on other threads that there was some shuffling, possible Netflix WFC wave 3 or one of the amazon exclusives or ...and I feel bad even typing this... cancelled.
