Why did you make the thread then, if you already knew the answer? :D

As per usual never a serious response to a fan's question. The closest being Underbase Starscream, though I dispute this.

The power of the Underbase could easily set worlds on fire and send stars nova by passing them in the original series. Starscream even comments that he's been filled with "the power cosmic", likely a reference to the energy source used by Galactus and his heralds in Marvel. During ReGeneration One as well, Jhiaxus states that the evolutionary energy he absorbed from the Underbase was greater than anything Rodimus Prime's Matrix could put out.

This would indicate that Starscream with the full remaining power of the Underbase (greater than Jhiaxus' share of it) would put him above Unicron (destroyed by the Matrix) in power. However, it's worth noting that the Matrix's power is often variable and circumstantial. The Matrix is only a fragment of the lifeforce of Primus but released in proximity to Unicron's corporeal form totally destroys him and in the UK stories was able to seal away his lifeforce. Its power sometimes diminishes with usage such as in ReGeneration One where following the end of the last Marvel issue the only Matrix energy left was a remnant within Thunderwing's corpse.

Keep in mind that Unicron's power is variable as well based on the universe he's in, the might of his corporeal body, ect. His original Marvel bio made note of being able to eat not just moons and planets but entire stars to add to his bulk. So a Saturn-sized Unicron can eat stars. Sure the Underbase can rather passively make stars explode from being in proximity. However, Unicron and Primus at the height of their power did this too. In the flashback of their combat in their original forms the universe was getting wrecked with each blow they traded. "The Universe shook! Worlds were destroyed, suns imploded!" So far beyond star-killing power, in the Marvel continuity family were shown to be able to shake the universe.

But wait, there's more! Not exactly a combat feat, but when Primus was shot in the face and awoken he released the 'primal scream' which again shook the universe. Or did it? This same scream is referenced by Vector Prime in the FunPub comics as echoing through the whole multiverse.

Also, as mulitversal singularities, think about the true scope of power Primus and Unicron would have without plot-induced stupidity and nonsense quantum fuckery. Primus is anchored into nearly every reality as a hub of multiversal stability. The death of Primus is the death of the universe. Typically. Unicron's true form based on the FunPub comics is far more massive than any of his avatars and rests outside the multiverse emanating into whichever universe he feels like fucking with. If one fragment can shake or devour an entire universal continuum, multiply that by how many universes have been documented already and the nigh-infinite universes not cataloged by the Transtech and you've got a general idea of the true power of these gods.

Well the matrix is a part of Primus's essence or spark and exposure to it for Unicron deadily and agonising enough to make him literally tear himself about. If a small part of his spark is that deadily to Unicron it stands to reason Primus would be vastly stronger than the chaos bringer.

Not necessarily as the opposite has also been the case. Dark energon, angolmois energy, etc have all shown to have a power-increasing effect for Transformers but a deleterious one overall to the essence of Primus. That was actually the entire premise of the Aligned continuities.

    Whirl?

    Chip chase?

In all seriousness though in the call of the primitives episode, didn’t that tornedron enemy achieve more than Unicron did, really easily, if it wasn’t a reverse button.

I would say Underbase Starscream is the closest, but I don't consider him a match for Unicron. Unicron shows that he has both destructive and constructive powers while UB Starscream is a one trick pony.

Additionally raw power is squandered without the knowledge and ability to control it. Starscream became a cosmic force, Unicron has always been one. That alone puts him leagues ahead in my mind.
