Also, contrary to popular belief, they were intended to be released as mere running change variants, not as separate products with different names. The terms "Combat Hero Optimus Prime" and "Combat Hero Megatron" are purely based on early working names for the "Hero" assortment that were inconsistently used by Hasbro, and thus still floating around when referring to those redecos. The packaging for both is only marginally changed, still depicts the same package art in the original colors, but one actual change is the text above the UPC barcodes, which now adds "Hero" in front of the characters' names. Not "Combat Hero", just "Hero".

Because the fandom was not fully aware of the history of the different working names for the assortment, when people learned of the planned but ultimately unreleased redecos and saw them referred to as "Combat Heroes", they assumed that this was the intended new name to distinguish the new versions from the original "Heroes" versions, not an outdated working name incorrectly attached to what was essentially supposed to be just color variants like the orange Construticons, the multicolor Dinobots or the "clear" and "solid" versions of Go-Bots Motormouth and Gearhead. (Also, the original intention for Go-Bots Optimus Prime and Megatron, and Cyberjets Air Raid, Jetfire and Strafe, was for them to also be mere variants of Firecracker, Blowout, Skyjack, Hooligan and Space Case, respectively.)

Could be worse, could be planning on sending back a regular version of the mold in the box and demanding a refund.

 

I didn't get the regular version, because I'm tired of Optimus figures that are red-grey/white-blue. This is an interesting deco that I don't have, so definitely something I'm interested in.

Now to see if I can find this on any of the European (preferably German) Amazon.

Yeah, doesn't lead to anything, but at least it makes clear German Amazon will also have it. July 15th...hm, unless something changes that's a workday at the office for me.

 

I was teasing. I hate that shit. I'll keep them for a few years then sell them for a butt load. It's not scalping when they're worth more later and I'm in no hurry to sell them.

Yeah, looks likes it unavailable to order now with the wish list. Maybe when it's closer to July 15 pre-orders will officially go up.

And no, Amazon never charges you when you pre-order nor do they even pre-authorize your credit/debit card.

Only when the pre-order is about to ship they will then charge you.
