Here are my thoughts on this it is soundwave in a alter ego targeting ultra Magnus or soundblaster is a completely different character and is now a type of assassin.

Weakest one for me is the RI cover. but the one of Magnus being ambushed looks really nice.

Wow, that drawing on Soundblaster, cover A by Andrew Griffith looks really great. Love the details, it's like this drawing was drawn based on a MP figure/3d figure as oppose to his old UK Marvel style which just looks 2D lines. That's one big change/improvement going back to his UK Marvel TF style. Cover B by Alex Milne, his art and UM looks superb as usual. The RI Cover, for some reasons that face screams Ironhide to me more than UMagnus. Also not fond of the extra narrow horizontal blue band toward the bottom of the chest plate as well as the white band on side of the waist. Other than this 3 nitpicky, the rest of RI Cover looks good. For the love of Primus, give my boy UM his Autobot insignia on the right shoulder in which the Siege toy was lacking due to the mold detail!

Yeah, I'm also intrigued to find out whether Soundblaster is his own character or Soundwave has some other secret agenda....

After how crappy they handled Deathsaurus vs CJ. I don't have much hope in how UM vs Soundblaster will turn out.

Dumb silly idea: That's not Soundblaster, that's Logos Prime.

I mean if you didn't enjoy a great issue I wouldn't get your hopes up for this one
It is yes, alternatively YoungPrime maybe this will be your thing? I suppose Easton must be writing for someone

Anyway the A and B is gorgeous, I was going to say I'm intrigued about Soundblaster but... yeah, Deviations and MASK

What part was I supposed to consider great about that issue? Deathsaurus should be a "LSOTW" Overlord type threat. Not the victim of a predictable "Little Engine That Could" story by a plucky little autobot that usually gets his ass kicked.

Yeah, I've read better stories in IDW1 so I don't think of Galaxies as being a great book either. Maybe I would if I hadn't read all of IDW1, but I have.

I have never seen Cliffjumper get their ass kicked. He's got to have some power to back up shooting Megatron in the head. Singlehandedly defends a planet from occupation in AHM, he's also quite often brushed to the side which is more present than ever in this issue. And this is a Deathsaurus in a very different context, like he conquered a planet like LSOTW Overlord but unlike him, wasnt trying to send a very loud message to his superiors that he was doing so, ending in a confrontation. He brought a planet to it's knees and would've kept it that way indefinitely. Cliffjumper got lucky because D really didnt want to destroy his work, and I doubt he's out of it longterm.

I mean personally I'm not as big a fan of some of the IDW2 run but really enjoyed Galaxies at least.

But to an extent, fair. Cliffjumper got lucky is plot reasons with varying levels of justification. Like yes, Cliffjumper was powered up, but when I find some of it clever SUPA POWER BOOST is a shame.
Oh agreed there though, like I can enjoy both right now (not like the first 10 issues as much) but aside from respecting differing opinions I don't see how people prefer IDW2 just because the worldbuilding of 1 is slightly confused on account of going longer and having more than one creative team/editor.

Then you conveniently like to look the other way...
"His recklessness often leads to blow-outs and situations too dangerous for him to handle." ~Bob Budiansky (Placed on CJ's G1 Tech Spec)
He didn't get a lot of time in Sunbow's S1 and S2 but there's at least 7 instances where his abrasiveness has gotten him or another Autobot knocked around because of it.

It's basically his motto. The fact that there's countless post and videos asking why it seems that CliffJumper dies all the time, speaks for itself. I'm not going to go tit for tat regarding the 4 or 5 times he's died in other continuities though. My point is that using Deathsaurus of all Decepticon's to help sell his ER Dlx figure is a bigger turn off than it is a good promotion. Even you admitted that these IDW2 books weren't too great in other post, so we'll just leave it at that.

Poor choice of words but while I take issue with the outcome Cliffjumper would absolutely stand up to Deathsaurus and I don't feel ass-kicking comes into it. Basically I read some connotations into "why would Cliffjumper be in this situation" that maybe weren't intended, which is only clearer either way now that you've elaborated.
"His recklessness often leads to blow-outs and situations too dangerous for him to handle." ~Bob Budiansky (Placed on CJ's G1 Tech Spec)
Again, convenient super-energon ending to what was otherwise a good story but this absolutely is in line with "would fight planet-destroyer"
Also Cliffjumper died in Prime and IDW 1. Survived every G1 continuity and Animated and appeared nowhere else, I think the meme is less about him and more about Prime the show. Has Cliffjumper even been in 5 distinct continuities to have died in all of them, let alone more where he survived?
My opinion on IDW2 isn't a binary, my opinion on this single story isn't a binary. Also I'm getting gotcha vibes like it wasnt the same post and something I'm very open about.
But otherwise kind of a misunderstanding and past that sure we can leave it there.

So, has IDW given any indication that these collections of the main title (and Galaxies) are ever going to be released in softcover (trade paperback)?
