I might get this set, it looks great even if the toy doesn't really need it in my opinion. Wish someone would make some more hand options for him. Like a bendy wire cable extension for his claw

Is this the same kit Emgo reviewed recently?

In any case, this continues the trend of fill-in pieces being a real godsend for anyone who can't stand hollow pieces.

(Though does anyone know if there's a kit that lets you change Grapple's yellow helmet to his black helmet?)

It is not. I have the same kit Emgo reviewed. At the very least the foot details are different. The Emgo set is Go Better Studio GX-06, and looks to have more included such as the crane fillers. However the GX-06 are all painted orange on white plastic where these appear to be orange plastic.

I saw another version on eBay with a prehensile claw and a bucket attachment, but I can't find it now.

It wouldn't be hard, but it would add to the piece count and cost of a children's toy. The GX kit costs $20 from TFSafari, $30 on eBay. Hasbro would be able to do it for less, but they'd also have to pass safety tests and likely install them in the factory. It would likely add $5-10 to each figure. As it is we have fan complaining about price.

I'd wager 90% of the buyers don't really care, at least not enough to pay for the upgrades.

That's what i was thinking. I don't mind when they do this when they actually have some molded detail and not straight hollowness. Like in wheeljack and hoist around the legs they've got some molded pistons and other details so it's not hateful. This is hollowness done well. On grapple it's just an eye sore. I got another filter kit for him that looks sharp.

This brings Grapple up to full on mini-MP quality, but I don't know if it's worth the cost... Grapple is pretty awesome as it is, and this basically doubles its price

It does look nice, but decided long ago that I am not venturing down the road of upgrade kits that to make retail figures look slightly better. If I only focused on "classic" I'd probably splurge on some, but when it is put in a display (or sadly in most cases for me right now, a stack of tubs) with a couple thousand of his buddies, I don't think I am going to appreciate gap fillers.

Now if Grapple were one of my top-10 characters, I may splurge because it is well engineered.

The GX / Go Better set looks better. 115 Utopia 3d print quality is in line with Matrix Workshop / Shockwave Lab quality (middle of the pack). GX is super smooth and looks like injection molding with their paint jobs.

I have one 115 Utopia kit for GUOP, which I found more enjoyable than the horrific injection molded DNA Design kit.

Edit: I DO have the GX kit installed on our Grapple toy and looks great. GX kit also has panels for the crane arm and forearms.

I've had my Go Better GX kit for a week or so it's very good, but you might need to secure the upper arm fillers and crane gap fillers with some clear nail varnish or pva glue or something modest like that they don't need much to get them to hold.

The forearm covers are really cool, one small piece of advice the slim black leg fillers go in a specific way in line with a circle cut out so don't put the wrong one on the wrong side or the detail won't line up even if they will still fit in incorrectly.

I'd absolutely buy another set for any Grapple repaints or remoulds they make.

Or perhaps consider the 15 version if I want something to look a little different forsome reason - I think the other version is a little nicer though due to the additional pieces it has and the slightly larger forarm peices

There is a Wheeljack kit is pretty neat too. The one with leg fillers and tail lights in it.
Nonneff makes a gap filler kit for Hoist too and you can get a Transformation modifyer for Cliffjumper too as well as additional weapons.

I bought the weapon Upgrades for Hoist they are reasonable but not quite as useful as I hoped they'd be - I mainly just use the one big silver gun.

    YouTube (Legacy):
So, I watched Emgo's video and wondered (knowing upgrade and filler kits existed for about roughly 4 years from getting back into TF), at what point do official fans stop buying figures with obvious gap issues. Man this brings me back to those gappy "MP" carbots. Or will these kits always exist and fans will always buy them to "upgrade" their figures.

Even at 20 bucks, it still brings Grapple in at a fraction of the MP price, and it’s quite neat considering he is 90% there anyway.

if some kit did just come up with the forearm covers and was much cheaper I don’t think people would complain so much of the cost.
