    man, I am a huge collector of the toy line. I even obtained prototypes of some weapons for the unproduced second series that never made it to full production. I hope they do make some of the figures from the second series like bodyball, stellara, bandor, etc...

    Here are some pieces of history I have in my Sectaurs collection. I even created some figures based on the comic book series too.

    Nice just started reading the comic today. Definitely a little gem from the 80’s.

    Just got this completely based on @Pharoid ’s recommendation of it being a superb figure. Now that I have it and the package looks so good I don’t want to open it. I wonder if I should buy another to open now?...

    Thanks! It looks like I can still get more so I don’t think I can resist opening this one.

    Yeah, I wasn’t big on these and barely remember them but the figure already looks so good in the package...it’s only going to get better from there.

    I imagine that kids would have a lot of fun with these, as magnets tend to increase the cool factor of any toy tenfold.

    I don't play with my toys, but I do find the magnets nifty, if only because they attach the figures to my metal stands very securely.

    I grew up with the old figures and must have read the Marvel series a dozen times (still have a mint set of the eight issues), so I really dig this property.

    I'm a bit bummed by the scale, as there were definite compromises with the quality of the sculpts--they're good for the size, but would have been great at a bigger size--and I had some QC issues as well, which BBTS kindly helped me with.

    The straps for the shields are an absolute bitch to get on, and without them, the figures won't be able to hold the shields well.

    Zica's factory screwed up with the magnets, too, as far as not actually gluing them into the bottoms of the feet, so they can fall out unless you glue them in yourself. Not sure if every figure was like that, but a lot of mine were and Zica actually gave a heads-up about that.

    I'll take what I can get, but as a collector, I wish they were more than what they are. That said, for they are, I think a lot of people would enjoy messing with them.

    I had a QC issue right out of the gate but Zica sent me a replacement part immediately. In retrospect it was probably more my fault that the toy. If the joints are tight you need to heat them a little. That being said I also wish the toys were bigger BUT on the other-hand these are the best toys I have ever handled in this scale. Other 4” figures don’t even come close. The straps are a little frustrating but all the gear works way better than any Hasbro release. Nothing is cobbled together with hands that don’t work or were intended for another figure. I don’t have a loose or floppy joint anywhere on these. They feel rock solid and heavy and every joint is toleranced the same. No Hasbro bullshit where every joint is toleranced differently. The figures are small, I wish these were 6” but the sculpting absolutely crushes Hasbro’s work, look at those splayed hands! And my paint apps are perfect. My biggest complaint with this line is I need MORE. I need the full cast and damn it I need some bugs. Having Sectaurs without any bugs is sad. But I am 1,000% sold on this line. Easily the best quality figures I bought this year.

    I am going to post these again...

    Nice shots. I do think the metallic paint they used is pretty good, and the joints tolerances are fine for the most part. I could have been unlucky, but I had one with a super-floppy ankle, and some odd tolerances here and there. I also noticed some paint flaking off the elbows just from being moved, which is bad for the figures with black arms, especially since the arms are painted black instead of being molded in black...which would have made more sense.

    I found the shield straps so hard to use I just put them back into the baggies and am just resting the shields against the arms, since the handle grips are so loose.

    Add in the price tag of $25 each and a size that's true 3.75" (smaller than modern Joes), and to me, the overall experience is just okay.

    Clearly there was a lot of thought put into these figures, though.

    Very nice collection.

    Sounds like we had different experiences. I haven’t had any QC issues other than me breaking the seized ankle-joint. I don’t have an inconsistent joint in the lot. I only jumped on board in June so I don’t know if there were multiple production waves? I haven’t had a loose magnet yet either. Which makes me think maybe there were some tweaks mid-production? Not sure, no paint flake either. I played with the hell out of these too so much so I bought a second wave, plus the packaging is heavy card stock, just beautifully done so I needed a sealed set. I got a little confused on the shield straps but another 5 minutes with attaching the straps will greatly improve your enjoyment. Once you get them on they are solid, which is a bitch for me since I have freakishly big hands.

    There's a small hack for ZICA's figures to improve the range of motion at the hip:
    1) pop the torso off the waist ball-joint
    2) slide the pelvis overlay off
    3) notice that there's a square shape toward the center of the connector above the post for each hip ball-joint. That hard angle keeps the legs from smoothly and fully moving forward and out to the side. (I noticed this most with Zak as I had some paint scrape on his left hip.)
    * Forgive my poor attempt at illustration
    ball-joint
    __||__
    |_____|
    ball-joint______||______ball-joint

    If you trim those corners down to ~ 45 degrees (hobby knife or file); the figures' legs move up to 90 and out to ~45 degrees. It made kneeling poses easier.

    As far as the figures QC: I had one magnet that I had to glue back into place out of 5 figures and I've had some metallic paint flake off the wrist joints. The interesting thing about the figures is that very little is molded in color which is why the painted colors are so rich and match so well.

    Interesting. Yeah I had some paint flake on the wrists I didn’t count that as it isn’t noticeable since the plastic on the hinge is the same. And yes wrist-hinges on 3.75 figure. Interchangeable sculpted hands, with hinges. Yeah.

    The current 1/18 scale stuff I have is Acid Rain and Vitruvian Hacks (and one, lone War of Order dude). That being said, how would you compare a Zica figure?

    p.s. any chance you know if Adventure People have magnetic feet as well?

    I don’t know if they all have magnets. I don’t have any Acid Rain figures. But I do have Vitruvian Hacks and these are significantly better. It’s not even close this is a really solid figure blows every other 4” figure I’ve handled away.
