I dig the look of cel shaded figures...but that one looks more like camo-deco than cel shading to me... Ultimately, whatevs. I wouldn't buy it even if I thought it looked incredible because it doesn't have a place in my collection, but nonetheless...not the best cel shade job I've seen.

 

Weird they got the crotch hinge colour right in the toon shaded one and then it's red in the clear one, they just can't make up their mind on that little piece.

 

Does this mean GARFIELDMUS PRIME!!!

 

This seems like a sign that they will double down on their masterpiece geeeeeee1 cartoon line and forget all that legends beast wars nonsense

On a photo, it obviosuly looks good, but that's the point of this coloring scheme, I guess.

 

I should think so, TFS express claims these are out in limited numbers next week and the standard version is still due for reissue in july

1) BW is G1... it's the end of that continuity,

2) G1 and BW characters appeared in the same scenes, in the same places and times as each other, and

2) the TE BW figures are properly scaled to G1 MP figures.

I think you see where I'm going with this... Transform Element is actually completing the G1 MP set by doing BW characters sized to the G1 MP bots!

The cel shaded version could be a nice compliment to my cel shaded constructor. Not normally a fan of slavish toon stuff, but this could work as a set.

Yeah. Since TE is milking the hell out of this mold, a fully painted premium version would be something that could get me to bite again on this mold.

 

I'm annoyed that a clear version has the outline around the windows, yet they refuse to make a metallic version that should have it. With all these versions, just make the original prototype that you showed with silver instead of white and clear parts on the crotch.

 

Great, we got V3 1/3 and V3 2/3 but no V4. Obviously these were already in the works but I can’t imagine TE not doing V4. At this point, it’s inevitable.

 

Is there any idea what the v4 difference with be?

 

That cell shaded Prime is a work of art! I hope they do their Mirage in a cell shaded version too. Ill start a cell shaded shelf and fill it with any characters they put out in that style. It just works great with how clean and G1 their molds are, it literally feels like im looking at an animation cell.

Crap I just saw one retailer listing this as 174 Euro's... I hope this isn't like this everywhere... That is an insane price rise.

 

Quick search for TE-01 on Ebay found a pre-order from Mascotzone for 139$ plus 5$ shipping. There will probably be more of these in the near future.

 

Myself I am torn between the cell shaded and the clear.

Also several stores have the normal one up for preorder as well.

 

If that cell shaded TE-01 comes with the ver 2 head as well, it may just be bought.

 

I just want any normal or close to normal release so I can get this figure for the first time!
