Ordered this guy through ali Express and he never showed. Requested a cancellation and got my money back. Guess I'll hold out for a downsized version. Would love an mmc rex but he's still a bit on the spendy side.

 

Yes I know it’s the wrong sword, but I managed to find a partial DNA kit for cheap. Not a MP grip on the sword but it’ll do!

 

@luclin999 or anyone else who knows - what Predaking sword is this and where can I get one? I looked on Shapeways but didn't find one that looked like this.

I'd really appreciate the help because it's the perfect Predaking sword for me. All the rest (DNA, Weijiang, Shockwave Lab, fake Computron sword etc etc) are too large and/or the wrong shape. I've got a DNA sword as part of the upgrade package and it is better than nothing but I am not pleased with how stupid big and heavy it is.

Looks like a 3d printed sword.

CrazyDevy sword is smaller in scale compared to DNA Design but their kit is absolute hot garbage. Horrible electroplating quality and weird generic plastic gems that you have to attach yourself. The rest of the kit should just be tossed.

Crazy Devy upgrades have always been overpriced and rubbish. Their shape of their sword is just silly, with the base of the blade waaay too small in relation to the head of the blade.

 

There's always Shapeways, but I refuse to buy anything ever again off there (too expensive, poor quality, breaks easily). If you have a 3d printer or if your local library has one, you can browse Thingiverse and download files. I'm still trying to get my 3d printer up and running.

The Radicons forum also has various predaking sword projects. Some of the makers also provide their own 3d printed file download links. Ignore my post in there, which is for a custom LED sword (miniaturized light saber).

 

Has anybody posted a size comp with this guy and constructor or one of the zeta combiners?

 

I'll check Radicons, thanks. I want the sword in the picture and only that one. Would still appreciate info if anyone knows where that sword/the design files can be found or bought.

Kinda surprised that so many people seem to dislike this set. The animal modes I understand as they are basically bricks except for Divebomb, but bot modes and especially combined mode are amazing. I tricked mine out with claws on the Predaking hands I sculpted from epoxy putty, and added bare metal foil detailing to each Predacon.

Btw has anybody ever figured out how Razorclaw is supposed to wield his gun in bot mode? I asked a while back and no answers.

 

Best value Predaking bang for the buck IMHO! I only have this one and the G1 reissue.

 

Ok. I had tried twisting the wrist to the side and still couldn't get a solid connection. I'll have to try that.

 

Btw I assume y'all know this, but my girlfriend discovered that instead of using the posts on the feet to use them as giant rifles that you can clip them to the shoulders of Tantrum and Headstrong. I dunno if that was an intentional design detail but it works and I prefer that as it looks more plausible than either one holding those giant cannons like rifles.

Absolutely. Many improvements over Hasbro version, much cheaper.

 

Yes. The clips on Headstrong and Tantrum's shoulders clip perfectly onto the edges of the bottom of the feet.

 

If you like how this looks, particularly if you're ok with the very lacking beast modes, I would definitely recommend it over the official. Plastic quality for play is excellent, it's actually surprisingly much cheaper than the official, and the small improvements it has over the official are kind of big, I think. It's pretty much the official with an upgrade set already implemented that improves the back wings, the combined mode hands, various hollow points filled in, and some ball joints replaced by proper joints. The sprue marks on this *might* be worse than the official, but I really only noticed them on Rampage and I feel like I'm nitpicking even mentioning it.

You know, it might actually be the cheapest Predaking option out there at the moment.

 

Still waiting on my sword on preorder. Ended up getting it from TF Direct as OhMyPrimus was out of stock. Paid an extra $10 but that's ok.
